So I was up in the wee hours of the morning finishing the swap with my bro, and we thought we would go ahead and try to fire it up. Followed the procedure off heavy throttle, disconnecting CAS to let oil pressure build etc, got that, then plugged in fuel fuse and CAS and we're getting fuel, just no spark. Checked all four new NGK plugs and they were soaked with fuel. So I replaced them with the old ones but still no luck. We're checking timing today...other thing is, the starter will not always engage..possibly a bad ground? Anyone have both these issues linked? I'm pretty sure all my grounds are good, etc. Any other things I should be looking for? Hopefully we'll get this thing running today

Update, after spending most of the day checking grounds, etc we found the problem exists at the ignitor chip, although I'm not convinced yet that it is the chip itself. We swapped in one of my friends ign chips from his SR working car, and it still didn't work, and even swapped mine into his and his worked fine. There is continuity going from one end of the ignitor chip to the next. What I need to know is, what are each of the wires going into the ignitor chip?

As follows,

Red/Blue < (direction) Red/Gray Red/Yellow Red/White

Problem #2, there is a cut wire on the ECU that is a live 12v wire with current coming out, but we can't find to what it goes to. It's a red/white wire (pinout 105 to the fuel pressure). But there is no existing wire in the harness that we can find out where it goes to....Any one please chime in with info. Thanks!

I know this sounds obvious but check the plug for the coil pack harness...

and did you borrow your friends ignitor? use this to check the wire color and what its for.

if there's a short in your body harness. reaplce the whole thing. its worth saving the headache for another 80 bux shipped. find a donor shell and rip that f*cker out. a q45 ignitor will also work on an sr20.

Sorry to thread jack but my fuel pump isn't priming or getting any power. I found out that the ground on my fuel pump relay isn't getting a complete connection somewhere down the line so I grounded it and installed a switch but I really wish it would work the way it is supposed to. Could this be a short in my chassis harness?

certainly probable...

body harnesses are not hard to come by, and replacing them can cure chronic problems.

We got the motor to run, after supplying 12v of power from the battery to the (thick) Red/White wire on the ignition coil pack harness, if we try to send the 12v of power from the battery before the ignitor chip it won't work, only AFTER the ignitor chip (portion that connects to the engine itself). But I still can't find where that 12v of power (pinout 105 red/white small wire) goes to, does anyone know? I have searched through the pinouts and wiring diagrams for the s14s, and s13 SR20s and cannot find it. Also, I don't want to just run that to the thicker red/white ignition wire to the coil pack until I know where it goes....I don't feel like messing up my ECU or anything else. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I don't have another SR harness to compare it to.
