Big ball joint replacement at bottom of strut tower

I need to replace this ball joint. Have removed the tower OK, but cant seem to get the ball joint assembly off. I need to remove the cup with the small greese bolt in it at the bottom of the ball joint. ( The one that goes thought the crosss member. ) Thanks!

i dont know which Z you have but on my 280ZX there are 2 bolts at the bottom of the control arm that holds the ball joint in place.. did you remobe them???

well on the 70-89 the strut is held on to the steering arm with 2 bolts in from the bottom, you then have to disconnect the swaybar and pry the arm down to get the strut off and then there is a castlenut and cotter pin holding the steering arm to the ball joint. I really can't remember how the z32 was set up I only did it once and the mind is fuzzy
