Can I bi-amp my MB Quart 4x6 rear speakers with the front and rear speaker-level outputs of my Pioneer DEH-P5500MP headunit?

I am going to install my newly acquired Profile California 400SX 400Wmax AMP to Boston Acoustic Proseries 6.5 Components in the front.

Granted, if I set the FRONT/REAR level fade in my headunit to 0 (neutral) I should be able to safely bi-amp the MB Quarts with the front and rear outputs from my headunit, right?

Is this safe for my headunit and speakers, and is it a good idea at all? Or should I just run the MB Quarts off the rear HU outputs like normal and not hook anything up to the headunit front speaker level outputs? If I balance the F/R fade with my amp gains it should theoretically work, right?

Do the MB Quarts have Dual Voice Coils? If so, then go ahead and feed them both Front and back signals from the HU.

If they arn't DVC, I would only suggest Bi-amping/Bridging them if the HU can support Bridging. If it can, then you should be safe. Read through the manual or online, and see if anybody has bridged your HU before.

Remember, if your HU was/is not designed to be Bridged, if anything fails, you will lose whatever warranty that you have.

Why don't you install that amp for the rear speakers? And if you can, bridge the HU and run the front speakers from that.

in the case of bi-amping the 4x6s, its not a matter of DVC because it basically means that you are just separating the tweeter and the woofer wires/filters. It is possible, and you can do it. Test it out, see how it goes. good luck

As long as you use an appropriate filter on the tweeters, you will be fine. I would suggest adjusting the fader so that the mids get more than the tweets since you will only be using them for rear fill.
