It's been awhile but my friend used to use that stuff in my car to clean out the injector's and fuel line I think. But don't quote me on that! I know it has something to do with either cleaning the carb, injectors, and or fuel line and system.....

If you do a search on it, lots comes up. It was discovered that the formula had been changed (and not for the better). It was recommended that Red Line Fuel Injector Cleaner was the better product. You can pick it up at Pep Boys...have not seen it at Advance or Auto Zone.

Best bet now that the formulation has changed is Techron. It contains the same valuable "ingredient" that 44k eliminated, but in a smaller quantity.

I want share my REAL experience of BG44K. I treated my dad's 2001 Nissan sentra with BG44k. Before Bg44K, we used ABSOLUTELY NO fuel additive.

After 500mikes, the headgasket developed a leak (not caused by BG44k). So I decided to replace the headgasket myself. After pulling off the cylinder head, I discover a lot of interesting facts about BG44K.

What can be cleaned by BG44K?BG44K can only clean INJECTORS and INTAKE VALVES. Actually, the injectors and intake valves are both FREE of carbon deposit.

What can NOT be cleaned by BG44K?The bottom of intake/exhaust valves and combustion chambers. Actually, the carbon deposit in the combustion chamber is still very THICK. I doubt BG44K did anything to it.

So, if you want to clean out the thick carbon despoit in the combustion chamber (the major cause of pinging and knocking), you pretty much HAVE TO find a BG shop and use their BG ISC instead of BG44K.

Proper engine "exercise" goes a long way toward helping reduce carbon deposits in the combustion chamber. Engines that see high-revs (and of course are kept healthy enough for it) on a regular basis will stay much cleaner, especially when coupled with regular use fuel system treatment. Fuel treatment can only break down the deposits. The engine still has to get rid of them.

EDIT:Also, as far as finding stores that carry BG 44K, http://www.bgfindashop.com lets you find stores by zip code.
