Too much of gas would not be good, and not enough will be bad for the car.It just says, fill it up. i got this at the chevy dealler, every car maker has different gas tanks.
I guess this post is not as important as some of "what would be proper windshield wipers" post or what tint on windows is right.
Come on now.
Sorry I did not see your earlier post ... but, now now ... were your comments in this one really necessary? if you had just done a search for NICO posts on BG44K, you would have seen my prior posts on my recommendations on how to use it!
Regardless, I will repeat the info here. (FWIW, you really cannot go too wrong with just following the instructions on the back of the can.)
1. Start the treatment about 2 tankfuls (approx 500 to 600 miles) before an oil change is due.
2. Use one 11oz can in one tankful of gas on our Infiniti models - whether it is the 20+ gallon of our M models, or the lesser tank size on some of the older and smaller Infiniti cars. It really does not matter too much.
3. Add the can of BG-44K (carefully using a long-neck funnel - no reason to drop the stuff down the side of the car), fill the gas tank, then go for at least one long drive at highway speeds, if you have the time. Ideally for a drive of 50 to 100 miles - enjoy the ride!
4. Let the gas get low (below 1/4 tank) before you refill it - to avoid diluting it too soon. The seond tankful is to get as much of the BG-44K out of the system as possible.
5. After two tankfuls, or about 500 to 600 miles, change the oil and filter. While I did not use to do this, I now recommend it based on advice from Q45tech. There is always some minute blow-by of fuel into the oil in the pistons, so it is a probably good thing to change the oil after the treatment.
