BG there is no question at all

If its your first use in a long time, buy two cans because you will want to use it again at the next fill up (it really helped out my injectors the 2nd time around)

It should say on the can, treats 10 or 20 gal. I usually run a half tank right about to empty and then fill up and do it again. Dont let yourself get ripped off either, Ebay is dirt cheap for 3 packs and up (to a multi year supply)

If you do not trust ebay, some users have linked to sites they think sells at a fair price, and if they are being linked from NICO members they are probably pretty reliable

Cans should run anywhere up to $8-12, my 10 pack ran ALOT less expensive. BG also makes some other really great products, well worth an investment to solve any problems

EDITWhen you use the can, save the round disc in the bottom. Sometimes you can trade them in for free BG prodcuts, I just give mine to my favorite mechanic and he gets a bunch of free stuff and hooks me up in exhange

The instructions say that one can treats up to 20 gallons - Since the Q holds a little more than 21 gallons, a full tank would thin it out a little more than it really should.

Personally, I like to toss one can in a 3/4 empty tank immediately before filling it up to the half-way mark (i.e., so that one can mixes with approx. 10 gallons) - gives the fuel system a nice, concentrated dose that way.

Note that when it cleans the fuel system, a lot of that crap ends up in your crankcase oil. So, it's not a bad idea to hold off on using the BG44K until about 1 fillup before your next oil change.

An interesting test [for those that have an accurate scale] is to weigh a brand new fuel filter and then a used 15k filter [after you have blown the gasoline out = reverse shop air].

800 gallons of gasoline weights ~~ 5,000 pounds and 99.99% pure can contain 1/2 a pound of dirt easily.......................a 1% error in combustion can create 50 pounds of pure carbon soot 10% of this usually ends up in oil and half in oil filters......................2.5 pounds in an oil filter maybe if you are lucky so 1/2 pound every 90 days.

5,000 pounds of gasoline needs 73,500 pounds of air for combustion buts that's for another time and a different product.

I could tell a real difference in the BG stuff, but a friend of mine couldn't. I guess his system was cleaner than mine.

First of all, you are comparing bannanas to caviar.

It's like those cereal commercials, maybe 10 cans.

Lovers of lucas products usually haven't read

I've been using Chevron Techron fuel system cleaner and Gumout Regan system cleaner and I haven't had any issues with both products! I used to use lucas, but switched to both products and love both of them.

Of all the Lucas products I've used only the Power Steering Leak Stop seems to be useful and somewhat reliable compared to other brands.

There are roughly 70 EPA certified gasoline detergent formulas.

If I was forced to use something besides BG44k, I would use two large Techrons in 20 gallons and repeat with another two on the next tank refill.

That's good to hear. I have a bottle sitting on my tool box waiting to be used after I clean and tighten up stuff on my power steering system.

How about the Nissan product (I can get the part number off an earlier post) that I can get from their Parts dept? The Infiniti service rep at the dealer, who had been a Nissan tech for 14 years, claimed that it is as good as BG44K.

'as good as'

If your best claim is being equal that answers the question

I'm glad you confirmed that information for me. I wanted to use (2) Techrons at the same time but I thought that could cause damage. I will do two of them today before I fill up my car.

Techron (not the consumer alternative Chevron sells) is about 25% the strength of BG 44K.

So, you are speaking about the product than you can purchase in Atuozone, Advanced right? It's a black bottle called Chevron Techron right? They have bottles that treats up to 12gal. and 20gal. If I'm using the wrong product, please let me know so I can stop waisting money.

I've used the 44k and can tell a difference, but I've never used these:

BG Air Intake System Cleaner

BG Fuel Injection System Cleaner

Have y'all? Dennis are they something we should add to the ultimate maint list?

it is quite obvious that they are all the same stuff, one is just more concentrated than the other.

I just used a big bottle of chevron techron concentrate to 20 gallons of gas. I will probably run in one more time before getting my oil change.

after that it's throttle body-plenum-air intake cleaning.

well guys, I just finished a bottle of chevron techron concentrate thru a 20 gallon cycle.

just got my oil change and there wasn't any obvious residue. My injectors were not that clogged to begin with.

I also just had my throttle body-top engine cleaned out, my mechanic said it wasn't even dirty.
