I was going to have a tune up on my M45. One shop wants $160 for the bg treatment. It sound like it was air intake and fuel treatment. Does this sound right? Does anyone have experience with this? Or should I just get a bottle of bg44k and be done with it?

Based on what some other smart people on here recommend, if you feel any stumbling or other injector/ignition issues, you should have the pressured fuel cleaning service done at your dealer. My dealer has a special that costs $129.

But since I do not experience any noticeable injector issues, I will just use a can of bg44 and be done with it. I will probably get the cleaning service done at 60k.

I've got 65,000 on it, but it runs fine. I just bought it though I don't know if it has ever been done.

Plenum, TB, and intake dirt comes from poor air filter mainteances and oil evaporation thru PCV system.

The worst are the oil cotton cone filters which pass microscopic dirt easier than oem filters...................the 1% improvement in flow restriction allows some much extra dirt thru that frequent cleanings are required.Synthetics evaporate at 1/2 the rates of conventional oils so 1/2 as much oil in plenum to catch dirt.
