I just read a post by Q45 tech saying he always used this with his mobil 1 oil.

Q45 Tech, I was hoping you could expand on this.....

I was always under the impression that oil additives were all BAD. What benefits does this product bring to the table.

Mobil 1 decreased the level of Zinc additive to help extend catalytic converter life on oil burning engines.My 248k engine doesn't burn oil therefore more/some Zinc is a plus under certain conditions with certain oils.

Before using OIL additives get a Masters in Chemistry or eqivalent to understand how each may interact with each other over the life of the oil.

If you change your oil every 90 days no additives are necessary...........I change the Synthetics every 90 days [probably a waste in some periods but some are as high as 5,000 miles].

Just a perfect time to go over every aspect of the car looking for future surprises.

In 13 years one battery jump and one tow for a broken leaky brake hose. Each taught me a lesson.
