Hey. I have a quick question concerning this injector cleaner. Is this something that I can put in my gas tank myself like the usual o-t-c products you can buy from Autozone or do I have to get my car serviced with the product. I've have been using Lucas injector cleaner, but I just want to go ahead and use the best product. I found some on eBay for cheap and I am looking to purchase some. Thanks.

It pours right into the tank. Some more details on it if you search the forum.

Its suggested that you pour it into a near-empty tank, top it off, and go for a long highway drive (like, a couple hundred miles). Then, after that tank is depleted, have your oil changed.

That lucas stuff is pretty darn good. I use it also. Notice how it's a little thick. It's suppose to lube the valve guides, upper valve train, etc. I've used it on 10 of my other cars in the past with no problem.

Read http://www.bobistheoilguy.com and you might change your mind.

No other injector cleaner that can be added to your gas tank is of the same strength as BG44K.

BG44K is top notch. The only other products I've used other than BG44K are:

Redline Complete Fuel System Cleaner. I used this product with the first 2 tanks of gas when I bought the Q, right after the Pressurized Fuel Rail Flush:

I used to always use these 2 Liqui Moly/ Lubro Moly products on my German cars as a set:

Jectron - Fuel Injection Clean

Ventil Sauber - Valve Clean

O.K. I dont see anything about the lucas's fuel treatment stuff. I've used lucas oil stabilizer for a long time now with no problem. In fact, I purchased a 1989 350 pontiac firebird with 50,000 miles in 2001. I just sold it a year ago with 197,000 miles on it. Those motors are good for 100,000 not much more then that. Used lucas oil treatment in it every oil change. I raced the firebird every week at a local drag track, no problem. That gear contraption he had is nothing like a engine, maybe a gearbox but thats it.

Everybody has their own favorite SNAKE OIL and horse liniment.

Luckily most are designed to do little harm.

Unfortunately, not all are.
