I am sorry to bother you about a question u already replied to. I am very skeptical about the BG fuel induction service that I was told I need to make my car run as best as it could after $4500 of restoration on my 92. I will not lie to you since my car is not to be on this site. Please don't stop reading because I feel you may be the only one who can answer my questions honestly in way I understand! Soooooo.... My car is a 92 honda prelude si 4ws non V-TEC with perfect leather interior and basically mechanically rebuilt to OEM by myself with a honda manual. After 8 years of using and abusing my car I have a love I will not part with! I hope U can Understand this.

I have only read your post on the BG induction service once. I have to say you have gave me more info than anything on the web. You are the reason why I signed to be on your site. Yet, I don't understand everything.

I am a R&D Coffee specialist who is not to impressed with most of the info I get on my car. I work with many forms of carbon build up from many processes. I know that certain carbons can turn harder than most metals used to make an engine after a heat treated life. This is why I am iffy about this procedure for new life to my engine.

So this is my problem I BEG for you to answer. 2 out 3 times my car runs great. That 1/3rd is killing me! It will have horrible throttle reaction until I engage the clutch and take the RPM to 3G. After that it smooths out.

Questions about the whole process. 1. What fats are in a fuel + oil system? 2. Should I replace my injectors + fuel pump first? 3. Did the drop in K&N air filter respond neg to my engine? 4. What if my carbon deposits already damaged my valves and seats? 5. Why do I foul plugs when I do try a fuel additive? 6. Compression check is perfect but how could I be fowling plugs? 7. Spray pattern from Nozzles is perfect but not OEM?

Message 24824 Re: fuel rail/injector cleaning q45tech The fuel injector/fuel rail cleaners is similar to 44K but different in that the detergent is in toluene/xylene [BG Fuel Injector Cleaner] which runs the engine from the pressurized bottle of solution. The rail return line is blocked and the pump looped back to the tank. 11 oz runs the engine at 50 psi for about 15-20 minutes at 1000 rpm. I vary the pressure [40-50-60 psi] and rpm [750-1800]. The higher pressure [34-44 psi normal] and the concentrate dissolves and pushes the crud through the injector [10 micron screen filter] and into the lower runner and into cylinder. Obviously the best method would be to remove the rails and injectors and clean them externally but this would cost over $1000 in that the plenum would have to be removed and gaskets on injectors replaced plus the injectors would have to be sent out to a special machine. I use this method every year on mine it takes about 15 minutes to hook up, 20 minutes to run and 10 minutes to return the system to normal. So 45 minutes turns into an hour getting the car in and out of the shop thus the $99 charge with the chemicals plus 44k if you want it. There are 3 different mixtures:"44k" for tank, "BG Induction cleaner" for plenum and runners, and "BG Fuel Injector Cleaner" I use all three not necessarily at the same time. When the Entire system is clean a PERFECT [as new] idle can be achieved even with the AC on and 650 rpm in drive. Even the techs were hard to convince that 2.5 hours of work could make such a difference [over what is normally done], I showed then on 2 cars and now we have 4 firm believers. $225 for a full clean [including manually cleaning throttle body with spray, brushes, rags, then spraying the plenum for 25 minutes, then the fuel rails, plus 44k in tank may seem excessive every year but it works!
Your in the wrong forum but this may help convince you.

Welcome to NICO.

My 2 cents on if this cleaner stuff does any harm.I bought new a 2004 G35x and after owning it about 6 months I changed from Premium gas to Regular and started using Red Line SI-1 on a regular fill up with it. I originally misread the manual as "Premium Required". Only later did I find out that "Regular"was acceptable by Nissan. I now have 80,000 miles on it and I cannot say if it does any harm or not but, I have never had to specially clean my injectors nor had any service on the engine or fuel system and the car starts and runs without any strain on the engine (so it appears. I am planning on keeping the car for an indeterminate amount of time. Will the car die next month? Will MacArthur or Jesus ever return?I will re post at about 120K and let you know if it's still functioning in an acceptable manner.
