Well, being an Alabama boy, where "if a little is good, then a lot must be better", I'm wondering what's the ideal application of BG 44K.

Last two times I used it (3K miles and 6K miles ago) I added a can to just over 1/2 tank of fuel. I just bought 2 cans from Joe yesterday, and I'm curious...

Ideal application for BG 44K would be to feed it directly into the fuel line, otherwise, I'd just follow what the can directs on the label.

The problem is the slow action of BG44k. IT will not clean really bad injectors, nor injector micron filter screens. Use it with a full tank and then another tank if you want best results rather than doubling or tripling the concentration.

A GREAT rail flush depends on using more pressure than the injector ever sees [34>43.4 psi] something like 50-55 psi for the whole 20 minute period...........this requires more than the 12 ounces in the single can [since I vary the rpm from idle to 1500/1800].

The BG44k doesn't contain enough fuel properties to use alone in a rail flush.......mostly detergents and some xylene/toluene you would have to add 70% gasoline..........the BG rail flush product does this better for you.

Nothing beats an off car ultra sonic cleaning but the cost of injector removal makes this unrealistic......every 30,000 miles.

Im glad you asked it, because I just ordered a can (along with a ton of other stuff) from Joe earlier this week......

If BG44k doesnt clean injectors, then what is the point in using it???

I think it cleans some, but not a lot... it's designed to be used a preventive maintenence between rail flushes. Sort of like brushing your teeth - you can brush all you want, but they still don't get really clean until you go to the dentist.

So it keeps the cleaned clean......

I take it would be better to use it AFTER a rail flush......

The standard BG rail flush kit [plastic shrinkwrap] includes a can of BG44k to put in the tank.

Many of our techs buy a case 24 cans of BG44k from the supplier to keep at home for their personal cars and side projects.

That way it only raises the price of the 125 gallons of fuel they use by 5 cents a gallon.......when they buy it wholesale in case lots. on my Q I probably use 6 cans per year along with 4 MOA [now called #111] and a rail flush, a transmission flush/conditioner, and a induction flush kit, plus a diffservice kit and a power steering kit and a FridgiFresh kit...............I should buy stock in BG.
