Buyer's name is Suleman Said, he bought a $305 part from me....

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...47703

...for $50 after begging me to change the auction to a Buy It Now... I charged $8 shipping (actual cost) and mailed it out.

I'm a sucker for a Q owner in need, and had tested the part before shipping. I was saving it for my Q45. I'm a sucker.

SO then he contacts me and says the mast is bad.

They ALWAYS think the mast is bad, it takes several on / off cycles for the mast to align and self-adjust to the correct start / stop point.

Most people (i.e. IDIOTS) don't know how to install a power antenna in a Nissan. I had to learn, and can now do it with my eyes closed.

SO, I send the guy $25 via PayPal, and a link to an auction for a brand new mast (which had a Buy It Now of $19.99).

Fair deal?

Not for this chickensh1t. Without so much as an email, he leaves me my only negative feedback in 3+ years.

So, if "Suleman Said" comes in here looking for Q45 help (he has a 94), tell him to shove it up his non-English-speaking arse.

Ebay stories seem to never end. They deal with a global audience and jerks and crooks are no exception.

You were honorable and did a great thing by sending him money for a new mast for an undeserving, ungrateful and inconsiderate person. He should not have given you negative feedback. Don't worry about it though, you other feedback speaks for itself.

Since we're talking about antenna masts, I bought a new one form Joe and installed it on my car and ran into a problem. The antenna goes all the way up flawlessly. When I power off the radio, the antenna goes down ad will stop in one of 3 different positions.

Position 1, about 10 inches away from the bottom, position 2, about 6 inches away from the bottom, and rarely in position 3, which is about 3 inches from the bottom.

When the antenna approaches the 10" mark as it is retracting, it makes a noise and stops in one of the 3 positions mentioned above.

I have discovered a way to make the antenna go all the way down. What I have to do is turn the radio on and off within a second or two and then it will fully retract.

Any ideas as to what might be causing this?

Did you fish out any pieces that might have broken off from the previous stem?

Yes I did. In my case it was a clean break. It broke in one place only. I did however take everything apart twice to be certain.

Greg - you can "respond/dispute" feedback and I think it's worth while to do, as long as it's fact based.

I would though entertain the idea of having someone else buy something from him, just to see how he handles "feedback"

Yes! Worth trying for sure. I have had my one and only negative feedback like this removed once.

A winning buyer did not respond to multiple e-mails, so I finally left him negative feedback after like 6 or 7 weeks. That finally triggered an e-mail from him claiming that he had been away from home (so why did he bid?) and a retaliation negative.

I sent eBay copies of all the e-mails to eBay and they removed the negative feedback from me and kicked that guy off.

Ive been working on my Q magic skills. I'll try and cast some injector plagues or a transmission failure on him.

Then it sounds like you may have a gear with a missing tooth or two. Examine all the gears.

lino, it sounds like yours is stoppnig at one, two or three complete revolutions, based on the measurements of the retraction.

Might be a bad motor, but I'd pull it out and run it with the case open and the mast out to be certain.

If this guy ever lists something for sale on ebay, you can bet I'll be his first bidder. I'm a picky guy.

You sleep well. He'll get his somewhere - someday. Maybe he'll come around here looking for help..

I bought a stupid antenna from Pull-a-Part for my 94 out of a 90 and they don't have all the same relays. Doesn't work. $20 down the drain. Plugs up just fine, but doesn't work.

Doesn't look like I can post a response... seems to be a new thing with the Feedback system.
