I just learned the hard way NEVER let down your guard when you are purchasing a new car. I negotiated a great price on my fully-loaded Altima Coupe 3.5, and then said I wanted the extended warranty. I wanted the max terms and a good price. It never dawned on me that an authorized Nissan new car dealership could sell a non-Nissan warranty! My Nissan invoice listed the "7 YR 100,000 Warr", not specifically Security+Plus. I was told that I would get something in the mail about the warranty.

Two months later, I called Nissan USA for info on the warranty and was told that it was not listed on my VIN. When I called the dealership, I was told that it was a "ServiceEdge" warranty that was "better' than Nissan warranty...but with $100 deductible., and not valid at other Nissan service centers.

I just canceled it and bought a "real" Nissan warranty.

always read the fine print... much like putting # on windows.. stealerships mis-inform people...

Furthermore, i hope none of you guys took "refund anticipation loans" that tax-places have been calling a "fast refund"
