Typical newbie install. Not all installers are created equally. There are good techs that work in retail stores. Always get to know your tech before they touch your car. Ask a lot of install questions. Ask them about their experience. Don't shun all big retail stores because that circuit city store's install manager was too stupid to let someone with more training or experience perform the install. I do work for Best Buy and I do trust my techs. (I'm going to have them install a remote start and component speakers in my altima, the tweeter looks like it'll be a pain in the ***) I have a good bit of experience in the mobile audio business (I used to work for a friend that ran a custom audio shop), but I'm lazy so I'm having them do it. I learned a lot and I still ask my tech's stupid questions and they give me good, useful answers. I've never seen them clip a harness, or do anything that would be questionable. We've had a Viper, a few $80-90,000 Mercedes, and a few other nice cars that I can't think of right now. I'm not trying to say all best buys have good techs like mine is lucky to have, but remember, meet your tech, not all techs are hired equally.
