Better sway Bars?

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Anyone come across any decent upgrade options for the AWD Journey. I would like something thicker to help with the body sway.

Not me. I find the car is the right balance of comfort and handling. But let us know if you do it and it improves the car...

rolls a bit too much for me, my 2wd chevy colorado had less sway (with no rear bar). I've only found one setup with bigger bars for 850 so far. a bit pricey, so was hoping that somebody else has done it before I made the jump. btw, i've upgraded many vehicles with larger sways, and it always has reduced sway without effecting the normal ride. best thing you can do.

I would think that the closest thing would be an upgrade for a G37. Maybe comparing sway bars with that model would get you a bit closer. If the G37 sway bars are very similar then they might have an upgrade option that will benefit us.

In the thread at the top of the forum where you are supposed to post pics, one of the members has some pics of upgraded sway bars. I would try sending him a message.

Cusco makes them (front and rear) for the AWD platform. Those are the ones I'm going with.

This is incorrect. A typo. They only offer sways for 2wd. Hotchkis is the only awd kit for our cars. The benefit of swapping is more in the adjustability and rigidity of the bar itself than thickness. The EXs sways are pretty big already, maybe 2 mm smaller than the tuner brands, but swapping to adjustables with better end links will flatten our ride out a ton. Best bolt-on mod I've done for driving enjoyments sake.

thanks for the great info. If I may ask, after installing the sway bars (hotchkis I assume?), on a scale of 0-10 (0 being no impact), how much has the comfort level suffered? thanks.

As I mentioned from the other thread, I felt my EX35 has less roll or body lean when I changed the tires from 225/60/17 to 225/55/17 and the Goodyear RS-A tires seem to have a stiffer sidewall with the 55 series. Rims/tires came from my Q40 AWD.

I would say the Tower brace such as Cusco will not give you a night and day difference in handling.

Try experimenting with your tire pressure first (35PSI)then maybe a stiffer sidewall tire next...
BTW, my moms 2013 Toyota RAV Sports AWD has a stiffer suspension and ride compare to my 2008 EX35 AWD, even my 2015 Q40 AWD, I find the Ravy harsher.

Thanks, that would have been an expensive mistake if I had ordered them, appreciate it. Any suggestions of a supplier? Have any part numbers?

Thanks!!

already switched to 245/45/19's didn't help any as the body still roles a ton.

I saw in the "post your ex35" thread on top, on the 3rd page, there's a guy with pics of his ex35 installed with what seems to be cusco sway bar (by color), but the guy isn't around anymore, can't ask him for more info.

Cusco makes them.for the front and the rear. Not sure if that response earlier was in regards to the Cusco or a different brand. I am having them shipped to me direct from Japan. There was even a press release that came out a while back.

Definitely would not be an expensive mistake. Search for it...the AWD EX35 is the NJ50 body. RWD is the J50.

I am buying a handful of JDM parts for my build and have done extensive research on parts...most of which I'm buying from Japan.

Definitely!!! I'm going on vacation at the end of November, so I'm ordering these right when I get back. Decent sized boxes so I don't want them left outside for too long if they're delivered while I'm gone.

Hi guys, I'd been following the forum for a while but recently just signed up after we bought a (JDM) 2009 Nissan Skyline 370GT Crossover RWD (or Infiniti EX with the 3.7 VQ). The car is in overall good condition especially for its age.
One thing I noticed after clocking just ~300km of driving is that it seems to have a bit of body roll but nothing bad. I have looked for possible remedies, i.e. the Cusco front sway bar.
JDM Junkie can you please share how the install went in 2015 and the effect you noticed from the swap?
Many thanks

I'm also interested in some sway bars for my car. Any input from somebody who has them on their car?

Specifically I'd like to get rid of the body roll. When I had my NA z32 300zx, the car had significant body roll in the corners. I switched the rear sway bar to the TT version (much thicker) and the car had zero body roll

Yeah I'd also love a larger sway bar to reduce body roll. My old Subaru's were the same and it was easily fixed with a RSB upgrade. My s2000 has 0 body roll and it's fantastic.

I was looking at the cusco ones and look what I found

At the bottom, it says that it also fits 2009-2014 370z. Does this mean that sway bars for the 370z will also fit on our cars?

I've only seen a front listed. I have a 2017 Qx50. I would think coming from Vw most sway bars were swapable on their platform
