Better handling for the EX available now

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

AZHitman, do you have this part installed in your car? Any comments on it?

I have one too, but I am waiting until my steering rack replacement is done before installing it. The rack is supposed to be dome today, so I "hope" to get this and my Stillen Intake, done in the next week or so. I will post when its done.

I have some experience with bracing via my MR2 Spyder - they really do wonders with regards to improving "road feel" without the comfort penalties of upgraded shocks and wheels. Shakes and rattles are also noticeably improved.

My problem with this particular product, is that it is merely a replacement of the thin-stamp bracing. What I would be really interested in would be a large X-brace beneath the EX, which would stiffen the car substantially better.

Hey folks,

When rontek upgraded to an FX50S, I bought his BTTek plate from him and have been driving with it since mid-July.

I want to report to the group that with the BTTek plate installed, I have NOT noticed any difference in daily driving. For example, whenever I make a left turn at any speed above a crawl, the driver's seat shifts to the right, rubs against the center console and makes an annoying squeaking sound throughout the turn. The installation of this plate has not made one speck of difference in this - the car body still flexes as much as it did previously and there's no change in this symptom.

Be clear that I have not taken my car to a track so what I'm reporting here is based on "typical" roads (if there is such a thing). Possibly, it's "mildly" noticeable when the car is pushed hard ... it's difficult for me to say with any certainty.

In summary, if you're looking for a marked difference in daily handling, I believe you'll be disappointed. Of course, as always, ymmv.

The most common effect of good bracing is that you are made more aware of the contact patches of your tires, an increased sense of "oneness". Any feel of that?

After talking with an engineer friend of mine about the BTTek plate, there is no question that it is a much stiffer piece than the stock unit. But something to keep in mind, the stock unit is as stiff as needed to be, given the limited transfer points to the frame. So even though the BTTek plate is stiffer, you would have to increase the pick up points to the frame to benefit from its increased strength.

Mmmm... I think I can see the sales of these Plates coming to a screeching halt.

Exactly, what is needed is a large X-brace

Best bang for your buck would be some larger diameter sway bars.

I just wanted to let you know that Brian passed away in May 2009. Unfortunately, the company has been closed.
Please don't try to contact him regarding this product, someone is monitoring his email and needs to reply.
