I heard some guy was getting 35 MPG on his 400 HP GTR. I don't know if this is a BS claim or if he is really getting that kind of mileage. I know with probes you could easily attain that by installing a megasquirt system. I'm wondering if I can get better gas mileage on my GTS-T as it is a 2L. What ways could I increase this??

Maybe installing a front mount intercooler and a boost controller and lowering the boost?

Standalone fuel managment?

Ordering some miracle breaktrough technology off EBAY? jk lol..

I think this might be an interesting topic to discuss, after all we could all save money at the pump if we've buying 93+ octane anyways, and use our cars for daily driving and not just racing.

Doesn't mean we can't switch on and off the power :D.

instead of turning down the boost, (which would work) I just stay off the boost..Normal driving I dont really boost my car.

Yeah, same here. As long as I don't spool the turbo and drive like a normal person, I can get pretty good milage. It's those all to frequent time when a 15km trip uses about an eighth of a tank cause I can't keep my foot off the floor. But when you have a nice sounding RB, who can....

If I could stay out of the boost I would but I can't. As a result my mileage sucks.

Well, I don't think boost is the enemy here. It's using all of the available displacement, and engine revolutions.

I believe that a front mount intercooler would result in colder air going through the turbo. If I lowered the boost to like 3-5 psi. I'd still have good power, and enough oxygen to increase optimal burning =]. I think this would increase my fuel economy a lot. If we could get some standalone fuel management here I don't think 35 mpg would be all that hard to get, and yes RB's do sound nice. Mines really quiet though due to a 4 inch exhaust and the stock Ceramic turbo.

I liked my straight-piped probe better though lol. man that thing sounded like it had some serious work under the hood, which it did. lol.
