Hey everyone, I have done searches on this subject, but I think this will be a helpful post for people who are looking for high performance out of an SR.

What is the best base engine for a high performance SR? Red top or black top S13? How do the differences in the heads affect air flow/hp?Why?

Any other input will also help.

Also, what products have you guys found to be the best when it comes to air flow? Turbo piping? Down pipes? Exhaust? BOV type/location? There are many different brands, so let's see who's using what, how it's performing, and if possible, what you'd change about your SR.

Take it easy.

Red Top and Black Top are the same. The black tops are newer. That is all.

Since they are the same the airflow is the same. To protect the turbo start off with a downpipe, 3in exhaust, and (if you want) a BOV.

I have an ApexI twin chamber bov, id prefer an HKS SSQV as far as sound goes, but meh, I dont care.

i'm going to be going with an apexi n1 exhaust and a greddy 3" downpipe. i'm also most likely getting the HKS SS BOV...i've heard good things. i'd also like to hear what other people have on their sr's.

Sweet, so far so good guys. Btw, does anyone coat their piping? Anyone know how much it would help?
