I am looking into upgrading the stopping power of my brothers Frontier. It is an '07 or '08 SE model. The truck is daily driven, but we use it on weekends to pull a small (horse) trailer. It's a single axle light duty box that unfortunately is not equipped with a brake. While the truck seems to stop okay, it is very obvious the stock brakes don't like the extra weight. The symptoms include weak stopping and some brake fade after a couple of consecutive stops. I have been to the dealership and did not really get any usefull information other than "we can inspect the braking system".If anybody has any usefull suggestions, I am all ears. If not I thank you anyway.

Man... doesn't it suck that if your qustion isn't 240/Z32/Z33 related, most ppl are like

Doesn't Nismo make parts for that truck? Maybe they've got something. I'm looking around now...

Edit: Ok... I looked around. Looks like Nismo offers, but is not limited to, 'off-road-tuned Bilstein performance shock absorbers, skid plates and unique 16-inch aluminum alloy wheels with aggressive off-road tires.'

I'd start talking to the dealership to get part numbers and seeing if the Nismo parts are th same as your model...

2nd Edit: This might be useful... http://www.courtesyparts.com/f....html

3rd Edit: Well lookie here! EBC makes stronger brake pads for ya!http://www.summitracing.com/se...k|Asc

I couldn't find any Hawk Brakes product listings for Frontiers unfortunately...

Tell me about it. It's not life or death at the moment, I drive commercial vehicles for a living and never underestimate the importance of solid braking in any vehicle. The kid at the Nissan dealership was trying to be helpful, unfortunately he was not particularly useful. My work schedule really limits me to online or weekend research which realistically only means Saturday to go and shop around. I am going to see what I can find in regards to more aggressive pads and live with the shortened rotor life. For what it's worth, the truck runs and stops very well without the trailer. On a sidenote, my brother (lifelong Ford guy btw) has been buying Nissans for the past 10 years (7 to date), and finally admitted and I quote "I guess they make pretty good trucks." He is plotting on another Pathfinder.

Well simmode, I appreciate the links. I have begun some comparison shopping here and will probably order up a set of the Heavy duty Greenstuff pads for the front.
