77,600 miles for the lazy americans among us

is that G your only option? that would help with the price comparison

I paid 19.9 (US) for my 05 sedan, and it had 91K kilometers on it

but local factors affect the whole price issue

EDIT: the deal also included 2 1/2 years on a bumper to bumper warranty

From what I have picked up around here, older than 05 have had some minor problems, but I could be completely off base here

03 and 04 had some minor problems. Brake being dusty and head unit problems also some problems with the window motor. No major problems. Rev up engine from 05. Different bumper, lights etc.

I think the price is not too bad according you are in Canada. But if it is not a hurry. I would wait few months to buy. RWD cars have tendency to drop the price in Winter time. If we've got snow we got last year you should be buying the same G for a g or 2 cheaper.

Yea i am looking around to find the perfect G. So a 05 and higher is the way to go. Thanks for the info.

What is the best package/ top of the line package for a coupe? the m6? I had no idea the lights and bumper was slightly different. No wonder some looked different on the streets.

SVT and GTR???

I like my 04, but 05 & 06 might have fewer issues. The seat in the 04 was what sold me on that year. Also, love the twilight blue color!!!

i paid $23k US for my 2005 G35X with 18456 miles on it... still under factory warranty... I was only looking for an 05 or above... to avoid all the 03/04 issues.

The 2003-2004 6mt coupes also came with brembo brakes, which are tons better for track performance than any of the other model of coupe brakes.

Later models 05-06 had oil consumption problems and there was a TSB about it, motor replacement anyone? This did not affect all the coupes but a pretty decent percentage of cars were affected by this.

The 05-06 interior is much better/nicer than the 03-04 though.

It all depends on what you want, if you are going to dd the car and not race it get an 05+, if you were planning on going to the track get an 04.

How about some clarity?

Sedans are usually lower in price than a comparable coupe. So comparing the prices that people paid for their sedans won't work against the coupe you buy.

As for what year...

03/04 had issues that I didn't want to deal with. Namely:

Audio unit malfunctioningUndersized brakes

In 05, the coupe got an interior face lift. The gauge cluster got larger, they also put in brushed aluminum overlays on the center console.

The 05 and newer 6mt coupes all have VLSD (Viscous Limited Slip Differential).

The brakes in 05 were beefed up considerably to combat the undersized brake issue in 03/04. The newer brakes are close in size to the Brembo option for 03/04.

06 had a couple of additions, but I they escape me at the moment.

07 had the addition of the RAS (Rear Active Steer) option.

All of the 05+ 6mt coupes came with the sports suspension package which also include 19" Forged rims by Rays Engineering and VLSD

The premium package adds automatic headlights, auto dimming rear view mirror, auto telescoping steering wheel, and a moonroof. I'm not sure when memory seats were added.

Ok, I'm done lol.
