MSNBC.com just listed their 5 best "wild guy" movie characters.

Bluto Blutarsky (Animal House)
Jeff "the Dude" Lebowski (The Big Lebowski)
Wong Fei Hung (The Legend of the Drunken Master)
Captain Jack Sparrow (Pirates of the Caribbean movies)
Tony Stark (Iron Man movies)

Thoughts?

My thoughts: Replace Wong Fei Hung and Tony Stark with:

Beetlejuice (Beetlejuice)
Otto, from A Fish Called Wanda (Kevin Kline's character)

Any of these are more worthy than the original list:

George Hanson (Jack Nicholson) in Easy Rider
Jack Torrence (Jack Nicholson) in The Shining
Dr. Gonzo (Benicio del Toro) in Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
The Joker (Jack Nicholson) in Batman
Mindy Macready, aka "Hit Girl" (Chloe Grace Moretz) in Kick a**
Tony Montana (Al Pacino) in Scarface
Nicholas "Nicky" Santoro (Joe Pesci) in Casino
Tommy DeVito (Joe Pesci) in Goodfellas

Ditto the Brad Pitt characters in 12 Monkeys and Fight Club mentioned above.

Nick Cage got it done in a few movies.

Charlie Sheen for his various movie rolls, followed by his real life "not giving a s***" attitude.

Arnold in Terminator 2? f*** cyborgs and s***!

^Talk about not f*** around. Not one bit.

And, while generally not a Heath Ledger fan, he put it down in The Dark Night.
