ive been lookin up the rb25 swap into a s13 for a while now. Ive heard f 2 ways it would work. One way, and the most common one, is that you should get custom motor mounts. The second way is to use the r31 crossmember. it dusnt have to be the r1 x-member though, its supposed to work with the r33 x-member too. The r31 is just supposed to work the best. so what do u guys think would be the best way? custom mounts or r31 crossmember? another question i got is how much higher would the engine sit with the r31 x-member and how high would the engine be if it was the r33 x-member?

one other thing i forgot. i also heard that when you use the r33 crossmember, it bolts straight in and you should swap your lower links off the s13 to the r33 crossmember. its supposed to let yo keep the suspension geometry or sumthin like that. and you could lower your r33 x-member with spacers. would using spacers be safe? and and would the s13 lower links onto the r33 x-member work? and if it does, would it be better than custom moounts?

The Skyline crossmember, place the engine high in the engine compartment, custom mount can place the engine in the right place in all planes....

yea i know, but if you get a front clip, then you already have everything and dont have to go out and get custom mounts. and what about using the cefiro x-member?

The motor sits high with all Jspec front crossmembers, if your using a aftermarket intake or custom one the hood will clear, but motor is still high for the balance..but It wil fit

you don't need custom mounts. others say it bolts to the Xmember it came off of. then to get the hood shut either use spacers or remove the section on hood bracing to get the hood to close

That is correct, but it is still in the wrong place(high) in the car. It will work, but why not do it totally correct??????That is just my opinion..

it also unbalances the car a bit more to have the heavier engine up higher.

I say get a mount kit. But thats up to you. Here are some pictures of my car. You can tell how much lower the RB sits int he car over the SR by the StrutBar. Also, our shifter is in the stock location. Nobody would know you switched the motor if you didn't open the hood.........................

Good luck on your swap.
