Best Way to Slam a Nissan Rogue?

I gotta 2009 Nissan rogue, I ran across an forum about someone putting Versa springs in and lowered him 5.5 inches. Im all for that but I know that my toe is going to be completely off and that my struts are going to bottom out and bust. I wanna find some struts that will fit my rogue, are shorter but are also a lot stiffer so that the car doesn't bottom out. I figure this will be cheaper than coilovers and will be fine for the time being , eventually ima get coilovers. Does anybody know or has any idea of interchangeable struts that are shorter but will support the 3,600 curb weight of the car? I looked up Nissan parts and different models had the same connection and would bolt in fine to a Rogue, a 2009 Pathfinder weighs 800 lbs more than a rogue yet has very similar struts and they bolt in identically. So please shoot me some ideas guys.
