The title says it all. im having trouble getting the rtv that's on the exhaust sides of the valve head cover by normal means- (IE- Razor blade, rag and paint thinner, etc) the worst part is reaching certain nooks in the front and in the back, and especially on the lower side of of both the pass and driver side. Im wondering if anyone has done this job before, and by what means did they get everything cleaned off and ready to go? A friend of mine recommended MEK, but im not sure.

any advice is apreciated

Thanks again!

I spray some carb cleaner on a rag and go around the head after I do my best to get as much off wit a razor blade. Sometimes it softens it up enough to just come off the wit the rag.

^^^^ Good idea, as once you have the bulk of silicone off often the rest will rub off...I'd think anything with a penetrating lubricant base such as WD-40 would work well with a rough rag.

okay got it. Seems so though with all the nooks i have to cover. most off which can barely fit a blade. What about the RTV remover they sell in the parts store. Is that any good? or does it just work the same way?

Thanks
