Well the swap is only a few weeks away and this has really been bothering me. It seems like the Nismo motor mounts are a favored upgrade while performing the swap, but I've heard reviews on increased rattling and interior noise that range from "minor" to "completely unbearable." Now I really hate hearing squeaks and rattles come from my car, especially since I spend so much time driving back and forth to work. Is there a motor mount set somewhere inbetween the stock and Nismo units? Mounts that will decrease engine movement but not increase the noise too much? Or am I better off just going with the transmission mount and one of those torque dampeners? Lemme know what you guys think.

A dampener combined with new OEM motor mounts and a transmission mount of your choice would probably be your best bet for reducing vibration and keeping the motor planted.

I personally like the connectivity of stiff mounts, I drive much better being able to use all of my senses to collect information about whats happening.

You can't have comfort and stiffness at the same time with engine/transmission mounts...they are polar opposites.

I agree with J-Spec Tuner on this one though, but would recommend a stock transmission mount too, or a similar durometer rubber. You certainly don't want a urethane transmission mount if you're trying to avoid rattles!

Yeah, I'm just trying to find a nice balance of both worlds...having a somewhat stiff setup while not having to explain to my date why my car sounds like it's going to fall apart would be nice

Anyone have any experience with the Tanabe transmission mount? That was my top choice, until your post made me rethink my decision
