Well i have been racen my brothers Talon TSI Turbo FWD with and auto and i keep losen to him by a door length. I only have owned the car for a week now. I need to know were to shift. When i was racen him every time i would hit 6000 rpms i would shift. Also what RPMs should we dump the clutch on our cars at. I have ulta high poformace tires so i might be able to go a little higher then usual. (Toyo Proxies T1-S Z rated). Please Help me O by the way i have a stock 240sx 1989

Go to a local autocross. That should help the odds :-)Tyler

I thought the TSI's were AWD? Also, as to where you shift, it varies, you should just practice, find out what works best for you as its a bit different for everyone. Also, I would guess that its a 95-99 because otherwise I don't think you'll be able to catch up to him, and he'll still probably beat you as he has a lot more horsepower, which is unfortunately countered by his additional weight and auto. Good Luck

Daunt, you're correct, I caught that as well. All the TSI's are AWD. A buddy of mine has one, and I talked to him about. He runs a mid 13 and he's gonna be hitting 11s soon . . . good lord, its a nice car.

Nick.

the horse power maxes out at 5600, the automatic switches at 5900. ive taken my auto up close to 7000, this throws u into the next gear nice, tho ive never done any real comparison to see how it affects acceleration overall.
