I guess you could use a big shot of nitrous or something. I don't think you will be saving any money getting to 250 hp N/A compared to forced induction. Also I don't know how long your car would last with that much nitrous.

welcome to NICO

in short.. the only way is in your dreams sure you could use a extremely large shot of nitrous.. but it wouldnt last long (the engine or the bottle)

Long version.Forged internals, high compression pistons, lots of porting and flow work, new valvetrain, a shiatload of money, fuel delivery, fuel and spark managment, clutch/flywheel, more money, tuning,etc...

After all of this you would have one hell of a motor but more than likely it would be a peaky high rpm beast not suited for the street. I would suggest checking out all the different engine forums on the site and also searching for threads pertaining to engine performance. Good luck Bro

Put a turbo on it......and if that still doesn't work keep adding turbo's untill it does.........haha

for real though......your going to spend 3x as much to get that out of an N/A ka compaired to a turbo at 7psi making 250 easy for $1500......to get that N/A you'd be spending atleast 2-3k.

You can do what everyone calls a SR turbo build, with a T25. Now if you go with this setup and don't get an IC (which is recommended) you can easly keep the setup under a grand. But like rsmithdrift said for $1500 you can have a nicely tuned beast heh.

Welcome to NICO. If you can't afford a turbo, you are not going to be able to afford much NA either. There have been quite a few threads in the past few months about how to reach over 200hp NA. Use the search function and you should find plenty of other people who have these big dreams but no real knowledge of what it takes to get there. Don't mean to burst your bubble, people have enough difficulty just getting 180 hp out of their KA (wheel hp), but 250 appears to be way out of your league. But people have built budget turbo setups. Try searching the turbo KA forum as well.

Lets see someone hit 200Whp first. YOull end up spending more going N/A hitting 250Whp than you would FI. Give it a shot though hopefully someone can push things forward and find the right formula.

There is a guy on here whos running ITB's. Wonder what numbers hes puttin down.Wonder what this combo would do although it seem like it would be a couple a grand to setup. 12:1 comp, reworked head, knife edged crank, BC V3 cams, BC retainer and valves, JWT cam gears (tuned) , ITB's (tuned), Ecu tune with 8K redline , 4-1 header, Hi flo cat ,2.5" cat back and basic bolt ons. Thats what a Call a N/A God with those ITB bet that powerband would span half the rev range Imagine peak HP a 4.5K til 8k Also would need a better than stock Clutch for the newfound power and might as well throw in a lighter Flywheel. That seems like you could be at 220 whp (253 Chp) just a guesstimation though.Edit: Dumb mistake

there would be no need for an intake manifold if you've got ITBs (and certainly not the 65mm throttle body). There are actually a few guys running ITBs on here, and I think there has been one dyno, but he didn't have too many other mods, so there wasn't too much difference by itself.I'm still working on getting my engine built correctly (too long and upsetting a story- search for Bets on my RWHP for the details of what was to be used in the build, but ignore the year's worth of things not getting done), and I will post dyno when it is ready (hoping to push into 180s).

This guys putting down 169 Whp (195Chp) with around 1000-1500 dollars worth of mods depending on brand.http://www.geocities.com/wssnider/240sxDYNO.html

You would be reffering to Scotts (RBS14) dyno. With a T36 he pulled over 270 HP at the wheels with a Haltech standalone ecu at 7PSI of boost, I would say that put's the sr to sleep.. Cylinder 4 even has starvation issues from the plenum that he strapped to it, it has the potential to make more power on the stock block, and he is using 660cc injectors.

used stock 232/232's all stock OBD2 block, I believe. Boost went unchanged fuel curve and ignition timing were bumped up a tad.Starvation on cylinder 4 caused a lean mix and cylinder 4 lost it's rings.Supposedly a new block is going into place, and if starvation still occurs then probably a new plenum with taper as I advised.

hey thx guys for all ur help and knowledge i am a new 240 owner havent had it but 3 weeks but i do know cars i just need a little help on the ins and outs on 240s

just something i thouhgt i would bring to mind was the making the block a 2.5 or 2.6 and using maybe skyline pistons or other pistons that would increase the power but i dont really have ne idea how much so if some one could give an estimate or maybe someone has this done i would like to hear about it um i think that u are all right there is no way to make 200 let alone 250 i dont know what i was thinking out of a N/A 240 but i am going to get a turbo if i bore the cylinders or i dont so it would be cool for a response on this subject peace drive it like u stole it sideways is best wahhhoooooo gone drifting, later

its too bad that you SUCK! lol jk

that low dyno run is compairison of NA vs Turbo, 7psi + tuning = 300+chp FTMFFYSITAW!

skyline pistons are too small, maybe a vg or vq piston? or even QR25 piston might work. They already have a stroker kit, 2.6L lowers redline to 5,700 which is kind of dumb to me since stock displacement ka redlines at 7,2 but could rev to 8 noproblem with right head build so with the correct internals on the 2.6L should be able to rev to like 6.5 maybe 7 but thats just my theory

I think BigVin wrote "Boost went unchanged fuel curve and ignition timing were bumped up a tad."Sh*t if taht dyno was Na vs 7psi that would be about 80-100hp jump IMO.

You definitely need to keep researching, and NICO is a great place to do it.I'm not saying its impossible to get 200 whp out of a KA, but it would take a lot more money than a budget turbo setup.I think there was a thread a while back about how far you could bore out a KA block, and I think the concensus was that 2.6L was pushing it (cylinder sleeves start getting pretty thin at that point).Mixing and matching parts requires some real knowledge of what you are doing or some real working examples (SOHC pistons in a DOHC engine will get you higher compression for more power- which wouldn't work well if you do go turbo).Keep researching and take good care of the 240.

If you are a single cam guy you should look in to side draft carburators, individual throttle bodies can be done for cheap but need a lot of supporting mods to generate good numbers

The problem with boring too much is that it adds to much wear and tear to cylinder rings, and adds greater risk to bent rods.Maximum bore on a KA24e/de is .060 over stock bore which would be .020 shy of a true 2.5litre. Now one way to increase litre displacement is to buy an IPP stroker kit which I don't recomend at all. It changes the entire rod stroke ratio just to make .2 more litres.

im telling ya, don't spend your time or money on boring or anything like that just go straight to the side drafts, deviousKA should be able to help you out a lot since he is extremely knowledgeable about nissan engines
