Best way to get a NissanConnect id

Just picked up a 2014 Rogue SV, don't have the Nav, just the standard entertainment system.

I read some threads here with people having difficulty registering with NissanConnect.

What is the best way to do this...Should i first create an id at http://Canada.NissanConnect.com
using a computer and then connect the phone to the car and sign in, or get an id for the first time, right on the phone while it is connected to the car via bluetooth.
