What's the best way to find out A/F ratio??I was reading on the net, and most of good A/F meters they cost around $400~900... @@ and stock red top 02 sensor won't read A/F??

I see lot of people put on AutoMeter A/F ratio monitor... is it good?and what 02 sensor should I get to work with A/F gauge? And some people said SR20DET red top no need 02 sensor??? @_@

A/F can be gotten off the ECU by finding the wire from the O2 sensors. It will be the most accurate readin that the ECU gets.

hummm... I just thought that Apexi turbo timer has A/F ratio and O2 volt. right? if I install a wideband O2 sensor work with Apexi turbo timer... will the A/F reading be better??

your cars o2 sensor is only used for measuring a 14.7:1 mixture for fuel economy and emmissions so its pretty useless for you to view it because it cant read anything rich or lean from that point. What you need is a wideband o2 sensor/unit which run anywhere from $300-$500, this tells you an exact a/f ratio. Im not to familiar with the apexi turbo timer but maybe you can display a/f on it, but if its not a wideband outputting the numbers its useless.

Cuz I read on Apexi turbo timer, I think it says the A/F meter only reads with wideband O2 sensor.... so... with a wideband O2 + A/F meter + O2 sensor volt..?? maybe I can get good reading?? Anyone agree? correct me if I'm wrong ^^

when you purchase a wideband it somes with a sensor, display, cables, etc... Everything you need is in the package to properly monitor a/f ratio. It has a screen and its displays a/f ratio just like a boost gauge would display boost. most units have a output signal that you can feed to another device for viewing, thats where you hook it up to you turbo timer and you can probably view it there too.

You need an o2 sensor. You dont NEED a wideband o2, but its nice to have one.

This may be a long shot but anyone found a wideband O2 sensor that lasts more then a few months?

unless you are running leaded race gas, your wideband should last about 20k-40k miles.

another alternative to "find[ing] your a/f ratio" is a trip to the dyno

i have found out that the apexi turbo timer is not accurate when it comes to o2 volts or a/r ratio. before i hooked up apexi turbo timer i use my mutimeter to sample the o2 volt at the ecu; the apexi turbo time was reading around 200mv less than my multimeter(uei multimeter), but the apexi turbo time only cost 100 and my mutimeter was 240. so get a cheep mutimeter from autozone($20) and hook it up to you o2 wire and it will tell your o2 volt.
