I know this is a moot point because you can't change the past, but don't ever walk out of the dealership until you have everything the car should come with.
I did a something far worse, but similar for my first car when I was 18, I bought a used car in Arizona in my first year of college and was so excited to have my car I drove off with it forgetting to take the title with me (I paid all cash). Well I didn't go back for it till about 6-8 months later to get it, I figured it'd still be there. I had spoken to the dealership and they said they had it, but when went back, they said the sales manager I bought the car from was no longer there and they could not find my title anymore. So after college I moved back to NY and registered the car there and applied for a copy of a NY Title, I somehow got it (I don't remember how I was able to, it was a too long ago), but it was a headache thinking that if I ever wanted to sell or get rid of the car that I didn't have a title readily available. Pretty stupid move by me when I think back on it, but I was young and on my own in college and didn't know better.
