I want to get rid of the musty smell when I crank on my ECON or AC. I DON'T want to just keep covering up the smell with a ton of air fresheners. I don't want my car to look like the room Jon Doe kept a nearly dead guy in from the movie "Seven", with air fresheners dangling from everywhere. Any ideas would be amazing, I'm all ears.

Thanks again guys,

Ryan Whitaker

The process will be different for our Q's because we have a screen behind the center vents. You would have to take the dash apart and remove the screen to stick the tube in there.

BG Makes a product called "Frigi Fresh" that's available at Infiniti of Scottsdale. It has worked well on the funk that seems to afflict the G35. I use it on the truck and Q too, but it's not really necessary.

I would consider pulling the fan motor from your evaporator case and manually cleaning the coils as well... it's possible you have a good bit of debris built up in there.

BG "frigi Fresh" is just a deodorizer areosol spray....BG makes "frigi CLEAN" that is an expanding foam evaporator cleaner similar to the Einszett product I mentioned in my above post-

The advantage to the expanding foam type cleaners is when injected into the evaporator box, they expand and fill every square inch of the box and evaporator coil, scrubbing away dust/dirt/lint/pet hair/oils/nicotine,etc and remove this junk from the tiny spaces in the evaporator coil, killing germs,smells, and clearing blocked air passageways allowing you to enjoy a colder operating A/C system{more efficient}.

The foam cleaners can also be injected through the hole left behind when you remove the darlington resistor or a small hole drilled in evaporator case accessable after removing the glovebox for those who think they have a screen behind their center vents{none on the 90-96Q}

If you are going to remove the blower motor to gain access to the evaporator face to manually brush clean{a good idea if it has never been done before, there will be a greasy mat of crap blocking airflow through the evaporator} you can skip the harder to find and more expensive Einszett or BG foaming cleaner products and just go to Home Depot/ Lowes and purchase a $5.99 can of Frost King foaming evaporator cleaner and spray the evap while it is accessable through the large opening created by removing the blower motor-

Good advice qship. The frigi-fresh is indeed just an air freshner on crack. But it works quite well if everything is relatively clean...

I use Frigi-Fresh and Frigi-Clean. Frigi-Fresh is a disinfectant. Frigi Clean is a foamer cleaner...use Frigi-Clean first then Frigi-Fresh.

I hope this helps.

You might want to contact Greg { Azhitman} if you are interested in promoting your own company and website here on Nico by PAYING to become a advertiser........ Your post is both self-serving and deceptive, at best...."I have only found one place online to get, also was suggested by many other forums"
