Hi All,
I have been running my SR swapped s13 with the standard wiring of the neutral/safety switch by the fuse box jumpered. As we know, this fools the ecu into thinking the transmission is in neutral position all the time.
The problem with this is that you can then start the car in gear by mistake. This is a problem as it seems other people will now be driving my car... don't ask.
Anyway, I now want to make the car start only when the car is in neutral of it the clutch pedal is engaged.
I need to know what is the best way to do this... as far as I can see, there are four ways to do this:
1. Install a Bosch relay at the Neutral/safety switch at the fuse box and wire it to the clutch pedal switch.
2. Install a Bosch relay at the Neutral/safety switch at the fuse box and wire it to the neutral sensor at the transmission.
3. 1. Install a Bosch relay at the Neutral/safety switch at the fuse box and wire it to both the clutch pedal switch and the neutral sensor at the transmission.(just for extra safety)
4. Connect the Neutral sensor to pin 35 on the ecu and do something else that I don't know to allow start only when in neutral. (please suggest)
Which way is best?
