I have a 92 240sx wid swapped with an s2 rb25det, and was wondering what types of EMS are out there to tune it? Which EMS do most rb owners use, and also are there anything like hondata for nissans?

the Apexi power FC seems very popular, the AEM EMS is also a great choice.

there is no nissandata equivilent to hondata.

what about live edit final? I've got it on my comp and it has a list of base maps for various nissans (ca18det, sr20det, rb20det, vg30dett) but I believe they quit making/producing/let downloading of this. But if anyone wants it I'd be more than happy to share anyway requires romulator

r33 ecus are gay and you cant use a romulator on them.you CAN use a rb20 ecu on a rb25 and tune the ecu that way but to trigger the vtc you will need an rpm switch.powerfc is proven and its plug and play, you will find the ems has mixed reviews with the rb guys; for some its tits others its the spawn of satan...i personaly run a power fc on my setup.

Yea if I had the money I would so be using power fc for aem ems but for a broke college student like myself I've got to go cheap! Scrounged around and found the links for the software. So free software is good for me http://www.romeditor.com/liveedit.htmlI think the emulator costs about $180.

I've considered the power FC but how hard is it to tune if there aren't any power fc tuners in your area? I do have a wideband though.

PFC is like any other standalone to tune. You tweak fuel and ignition maps. Granted, it's a pain in the *** with the commander and a FC-Datalogit is wicked cool if you can get one.

tuing with the commander sucks as you have to map trace, remember where on the map it went then go and view the maps in a 5x5 grid.hard yes, impossible no.i tuned my entire car with the commander.datalogged boost, a/f ,and rpm and just used the map trace to figure out where i needed to add or subtract fuel.

they make a no crank trigger signal version. ill be welding a crank wheel and pickup on my crank pulley and using 3.0 also will be using msd coils (external) as they are a less of a pain to wire/replace. and better overall. but that wont be till next year. you can use any version really, thats the nice thing about ms. build it to what you want. then there you are. and its only like 300. thats a plus. and you can make your ugly a$$ harness disappear. thats why i like it as well.
