I keep having trouble w/ my wastegate in general and ordered a FRS gasket for my tial 38mm gate. It was supposed to be the graphite material that is pretty thick w/ a metal ring around the circular opening. They sent me the same kind of gasket I already have which is the very think stainless steel gasket w/ a raised ring around the opening. Does anybody have experience between the two and which is going to seal better and hold up. I have had boost creep issues from day one and want to make sure it is sealed as good as possible.

Sorry but a gasket isnt gonna fix the boost creep. Think about it like this, if the gasket is leaking around the wastegate, its letting out exhaust which is gonna make it harder for the turbo to keep spooling in the first place. I kinda hate having gaskets for my exhaust system unless its absolutly needed. You could get the new Tial v38mm. A hell of alot better being its V Band. But if your hell bent on the gasket, get the one with the fire ring in the middle and make sure its tight.

Anything with a ring to compress should seal perfectly fine.

yeah, I installed the metal gasket w/ the raised ring today and it's fine. I knoit wouldn't fix the creep issue, i just meant I thought it may have been leaking a little all along- affecting the boost. Again my main issue was the vibration and having no lock washers installed. But today I used lock washers and red loctite to help fight the vibrations. Hopefully this will be my last time screwing w/ it.

Bout the same, holds 17 psi till 8k. I'm installing my peakboost 3" downpipe tomorrow, so hopefully that will change my spool and make a little more power. I've been dying to get rid of this scrub a** 2.5" downpipe forever. And who knows, it may have some affect on how my boost acts. With the way things go for me it wouldn't surprise me atall
