yeah, I heard everyone is talking about the hks gt25r

blah blah blah

what are some other choices I have without going over 1300$ and looking for about 300 to 400hp. Looking for quick spool without sacraficing too much power.

how is the Garrett GT28RS (Turbine -Wheel: 53.85mm w/ 76 trim Housing: .86 ar Compressor -Wheel: 60mm w/ 62 trim -Housing: .60 ar) or the Garrett GT2871R Turbine-Wheel: 53.85mm w/ 76 trim -Housing: .86 ar Compressor-Wheel: 71mm w/ 56 or 48 trim-Housing: .60 ar

let me know what you guys think?

Oops, read the topic, what about a GT2530 or something?

gt28rs, the "disco potato". scc used this on their project silvia, made about 275rwhp at 15psi, supposedly this turbo can go to about 350hp according to jwt. gt2871r is the gt28rs with bigger internals, go to about 400hp. both are fairly new turbos, created because they have such great spool time, its practically instantaneous. there are a few people on here that have the gt2871r, they could probably tell you exactly how it feels.

yep the gt28rs and gt2871r both fit the stock mani, they have a t25 inlet flange. the difference between the two is the compressor wheel, a 60mm in the 28rs and a 71 in the 71r.

and as i said the hp ratings are 350 for the 28rs and 400 for the 71r.

Hehe...here I am

First off, don't get the disco potato. It's a horrific waste of money that doesn't make any power. The most I've ever seen on a disco potato w/ cams and an amazing tune is about 310rwhp...hardly worth it for a $1200-1300 turbo if you ask me.

I'm a big fan of my 2871 compared to my old 25R. Feels more linear, and was WAY easier to install. I'm also running the .86 a/r housing on the 2871. I'd bet with the .64 a/r it would absolutely rock the house.

As someone else mentioned, I'll eventually get around to dyno tuning the car. At the moment I've been so bogged down with work I haven't had enough time to fix up some minor things on my car (small oil leak, BIG coolant leak, etc...), so until I get to those I'm certainly not driving it around let alone doing any tuning

I've got an ok street tune at the moment. It's rough, but does the trick. When I have a chance to get on a dyno I'll do some real tuning and basically seeing what limits I start hitting on 91 octane, and then seeing what's necessary for 350rwhp.
