Hey everyone, I'm new to the forum, a few months ago I got my first car (01 Infiniti qx4) and am looking for advice. My friends and I like to go to off road trails, and I am wondering what kind of tires for the qx4 would be best for taking it on trails? Keep in mind there is some mud on these trails. I'm looking for tires that are not only capable off road but also look large and bada$$ (18 year old keep in mind). Anyone know what kind of tires would best fit what I'm going for?? Thanks!

People swear by BFG KO's for off-road use. This is the latest one:

There's other BFG models, for less money, that could also work well.

I feel like any all-season tires would work fine as well. I live in Canada and although I haven't done too much offroading through mud, I deal with a lot of snow, water and ice, and I find it's hard to stop the Qx4 with 4-wheel lock.

But yeah, I definitely think the BFG Terrains and GY Wranglers look badass lol, would love to have them if I could afford them. I just buy any random, used All-Seasons that look decent, get 4 tires for like $200 instead of paying nearly that for 1 tire.

I don't know if it's the brand or just the particular tire size, but my last tires had nails in them for months and were fine lol

While not best in class as the BFG KO, these Kumhos are a very decent price, have good reviews, and meet most of what you're looking for:

They definitely look like they'd perform well lol. Any thoughts on bfg mud terrains?

Limited sizes, and no direct fit. Will any fit?

Noise isn't too big of a concern for me, but I was worried about the fit. I'd be willing to trim a bit and i think i'm taking off my running boards, but I'd have to get it done professionally and don't have the $. I think Ill roll with those kumho's. Thanks all for your input!!

Good choice. Let us know how they perform on and off-road. Thx.

I swear by BFG all-terrains. It's a proven tire, used all over the globe. My last set lasted 80k miles!!! My all-time record.

I ran both BFG AT and MT on my Jeep...neither were loud in my opinion, and both great tires.

Eventually, I'd like to upgrade to 17" wheels so I can just buy sets of Rubicon MT take-offs whenever; they're always on CL.

I was seriously considering the BFG's but for money reasons im rolling with the Kumhos...a set of 4 tires and then a set of 4 Vision wheels for a collective total of $864. Can't complain about that lol
