Tein's are fine for street. If you're doing basically only track, then that might justify the cost of the JIC or other brands, but basically Tein's are ideal for street since they're affordable and if you bust them up, it's no real big loss and can be had pretty cheaply and quickly.

What exactly will stiff tie rods do for the handling?

they can increase the angle in which your wheels turn in/out at and also won't bend as easily as stock if you happen to get into a situation like that.

well actually just from drifting or driving hard your stock tie rod ends will bend. and the ball joints are already busted on mine.

but im picking up some tein's today anyway.

I have the Teins as well. According to the paperwork that comes with them, they are 33% stronger than stock. Also, if you use the spacer washer instead of the stock crush-type washer, you get increased steering angle (apparently enough to rub the tire on the fender with anything bigger than 215s) The pillowball ones from JIC/Kazzama/Signal are nice, but for the money, get the Teins. BTW, here is a comparison shot of them next to a set of 150k mile stock ones:

BTW, go to a parts store and get new boots as well. I got em at Napa for $17 for both.
