hey whats up i been wanting answers bout this and its probably been said many times on here. What would be a better swap a sr20 redtop or a RB26. I been reading alot of forums and what people say about both motors and i wanted to make 450 or a little over for daily driving and for street. I would get a z32 brake conversion or wilwood,r33 gauge cluster, tein basic coilovers, s15 hlsd, greddy intercooler, dual fans and get a radiator and also a hks or apexi n1 exhaust. I would rebuild a sr20det and get CP forged piston kit, crosworth forged rods, arp head and main studs, tomei head gasket, etc. As for the rb26 il get the mckinney mount kit and downpipe, and keep it stock for a few months then later send it to rawbrokerage and have them rebuild it and this is gonna be my first swap.so can i get sum advice and what yall think is best

Dream threads are my favorite. I would say get a LS-9 crate motor. 640hp out the box with everyday driveablity. And they make mounting kits for LS motor to S-chassis ready to go.

Really though any motor swap is nice if done right. A KA-T is really nice if done right. RB26 is going to cost around 10-15 grand to do right with all accessories. SR swap could get done right for about 3-6 grand depending how much you get the motor for with your power goals in mind.

400hp is not excatly easy to squeeze out of SR. Turbos, fuel and headwork cost money and time. A stock RB25/26 could get the job done with a fuel and turbo upgrade but the motor is more expensive. LS engines are great swaps too. It's really what route do you wanna go and how deep you pocket is but for a 400hp swap you going to spend at least 5 grand anyway you look at it..

loan or cash money. An ls swap is nice but it's all about your hp goals and if u wanna stay jdm. WIth that much you can do plenty. Hell i might even sell u my RB25DET swap if the cash is right

Glad to see you found out what you want. Since it has nothing to do with SRs now. Locked
