which is the best engine/chassis combo to go with. I found a 95 w/ @150k for around 3,000 pretty close to me. Does this sound like a good deal. Also which engine would be the best and easiest swap for the 95. Or should I go w/ an older s13(89-94) model and do a front end conversion. Which would be the best way to go about the swap. Thanks in advance.

it will be mainly a daily driver that will occasionally be pushed to the limits. Mostly though a daily driver.

Well for daily driving there really is no "best" formula, all sr20 swaps/combos will give you that performance at the press of a petal, it just depends on what your imagination wants and what your wallet will let you have. I would read, if you haven't already, the sr20det faq at the begining of this forum it will get your imagination going as far as what you can do with the engine and which one you want.

If it were my car and I was going for a daily driver, I would go with that 95 (if it's in good physical condition body wise), do the 97-98 front end conversion and drop a s15 motor in it, maybe a fmic, some 18's w/z rated rubber and that would be it, but that's just me. The advantages of the older s13 chasis is its a bit lighter and much cheaper, which is ideal for racing, but the s14 has the looks for daily driving and for shows, IMO.

Peace.

Gladimors idea is a good one, but super expensive... If it was my daily driving, I'd buy an S13 coupe and do a silvia face conversion with a redtop SR20DET, bolt ons, and some nice 15 or 16 inch rims, probably black or gunmetal.

May I ask why you would go with a S15 motor? I see no advantage to using this motor. The S13 and S14 SR20 can be modified just as easily as the S15 and cost half as much.

if your not building it, the s15 is a good choice for a low milage motor : )

if i had no money concerns a nice 98 240, id put in a s15 motor.

I'll be building it but that's a totally different story. I thought that the S13 and S14 motors that people were buying had relatively low milage anyways?

If you buy from respectable dealers like Dauntt they're ALL low mileage.

yeah and if I had no money concerns I'd have a freakin ferrari and a 1000hp skyline....why are we having this conversation...?

Well it's 250hp in one go and no worries it's a dailly driver. You get a startup garantee for the engine and you don't have to worry about voiding the warantee by moding it. You don't have to worry about after market parts cause you'd have all the hp you'd want in a daily driver, and a 6spd transmission. And I don't think you'll break it when your doing a pizza run or given peps rides around town. And slappin down 10-12k for a decent 95' and the s15 is a bit different that picking up a ferrari or tuned supra, but I get your point though.

Me I got nowhere near that amount of muny, and if I did I sure as hell would have spent it on my race car and not a daily driver, it's all about the rusted out crx beater for me:D!

Peace.
