Okay I've been looking over the posts and all I can really find is how to drop the car. But does anybody know what parts will actuly help you stick to the road. I want to know the best parts, from coil-overs, shocks, struts, sway bars..ect... I would like the ride height to be adjustable. All help is appricated.

very opinionated, but better than what most people would tell you:ground control coilovers + advance design shocks/ strutsground control upper mountswhiteline sways

there's a lot more like adj. upper links and such, spherical bearings, etc....

try RSR Race or kg/mm SR21's for performance springs.

with my car and the amount of grip I get, I'm maxing out (destroying, basically) a progressive 250-150 lb/in front and 180-125 lb/in rear. Although, with street tires you probably won't need to get too crazy (like a linear 400/300 combo would suffice).

That setup is killer on the street... offers alot of adjustability so your tires live, but you'll incure less alignment change in cornering which gives you a steady and predictable nature to the car.

If you wanna pick up all the SPL parts then I'm the guy to talk to about that. I could work you out a deal on them.

thanks for all the opinions but i'm looking for the best without totaly breaking me, my limit is 3000 at most and it is at utmost importance that rear tire grip, cornoring, and handling is best. Thats the 3 things I'm looking for, I realize that by anding corning and handling i'll be losing grip but oh well, I'm have my rb25 on the way is why it's so important, and what I want to figure out is what 1/4 mile times could be done with great suspension stock rb25, with some 18X9.5 and 18X9. low pro nitto's and supper leggra OZ's, so thats what I want to do. But I don't want drag suspension. What did you add that one Nismo part in all the SPL's?

spl doesnt make a tension bar brace, but nismo does. kazama and cusco make pieces with similar fuction (strengthen tension control rods brackets) but the general consensus is the nismo unit is the best.and handling doesnt mean less grip, its all about balance. too much grip on the front or rear, then u have bad handling.-Enzo

Try to get something that matches the shock and spring rates. THe best way to do that is to buy as many parts as possible from the same company because they tune those parts to work with each other. I can recommend JIC, RS*R and Tein without hesitation.

You might also want to try checking out sport compact's S13 articles where they discuss suspension .Their website is at http://www.sportcompactcarweb.com and just type 'silvia' into the search box. I hope you do check it out and not be too lazy for it.

mmm nismo might not actually be the best for suspension stuffs. look around for good prices, and remember, adjustable = good but not always necesary, and rubber bushings = bad, pillowball = goodand the SCC prject silvia has some really good info, but at the same time 5x my budget...-Enzo

I know a guy that has HEs and Kazma T/C rods and he does VERY well at autox w/ nothing more than tires and a 1.5 way LSD. I plan on HEs, ST sways and then of course the ProjectSilvia T/C rods I already have.

I won a class championship on agx's + sportlines, whiteline sways, a J30 VLSD and victoracers. It just means I can drive a car :p

The setup I'm building up for next season should help give me a shot for a trophy at nats, though: revalved koni's and GC's.

Well, if you really want good handling and are planning on spending $3000 for good suspension pieces, ditch the 18 x 9.5" wheels, they'll undermine the perfection of the rest of the suspension set up.. The extra unsprung weight from such huge wheels will definitely hamper performance, cornering, nimbleness, etc. Not to mention such heavy wheels place a lot of stress on your wheel bearings and will cause you to brake worse as well. Wheel weights make a big difference. And even if you can find a lightweight 18 x 9.5" wheels, the tires will undoubtedly be extremely heavy. Why do you want the 18's? For looks?

I just sold my 17" x 8" 5zigen typhoons for 15" x 7" Work 3 piece wheels--and I have plenty of power to motivate heavy wheels. Switching from the 17" heavy 5zigens to my stock 15" alloys was night and day--the car was much more responsive, handled a lot better, felt a lot quicker, and a helluva lot less sluggish.

I think 17" is plenty big, and a 17" x 8" or 17" x 8.5" (or even a 16" x 9") will be a lot lighter than 18's. If your car is 5 lug, get 17" SSR Comps....they're extremely light, albeit expensive.

I don't mean to bash your idea about the RB25DET, but I'm sure you realize it weighs 180 pounds more than a KA--it'll make the car handle quite a bit differently, with the weight bias of a FWD car just about.

Anyway, another budget minded setup:Tokico BluesEibach ProlinesS/T anti-sway bars f/rPilot front strut bracecusco rear strut bracelightweight 15" wheels all around with grippy Dunlop SP Sport 8000's :)

I also have heard good things about the Cusco RXB (rear cross brace)> It's supposed to stiffen up the middle of the chasis quite a bit... but with $3k, why not a bolt in roll cage :)

If I did the shocks/springs myself, (they came on the car) I would have done KYB AGX/Whiteline--they're adjustable, and very high quality...

Anyway, my $.02

tein he coiloversst swaybars f/r strut tower barslower tie barset he coilovers to 8 in front and 6 in rear

you will corner so fast the blood will rush from your head and you will pass out,so always drive with a co-driver for saftey, although they will mor then likely pass out too!
