Who makes the best struts for an everyday driven s13 hatch? i'm currently considering either KYB or Tokico. any suggestions?

Ohlins.

But seriously, KYB is great for daily, but remember that the AGX and GR2 are designed for stock ride height and springs. Not sure about Tokicos, but I hear great things.

koni r the best shocks, but after buying them and springs u could have gotten some entry level coilovers like tein basics. if u want springs/shocks just go with agx's

Ok

GROSS MISINFORMATION ALERT

The coilovers in the link up there are the Nismo R-Tunes. They do NOT cost $685. They cost like $1600.

The $685 is the price for the S-tunes, which is a very nice matched spring/strut combo from Nismo. They are not, insomuch as I am aware, adjustable.

For whatever reason, LOTS of retailers confuse this image and use the R-tune image w/the S-tune price.

Don't get all excited thinking it's some spectacular deal or something.

There is no R-Tune for the S13. I have the S-Tune. Seriously the best bang for the buck hands down. Matched springs and shocks for no more than you would pay for unmatched garbage. Do a search for posts by me, I have covered their benefits many many many times.
