what are the best possible springs for handling/autox/occasional drift. not worrying about ride comfort. as long as theyre not a ridiculous price. also i dont want too low of a ride.

right now i have pro-kit, and i feel like theyre the weak point in my setup. anyone have any recommendations??

btw S13 hatch, konis all around. thanks.

You can get ground-control coilovers for ~$350.

You can choose whatever spring rate you like...

i cant say what the better spring is but a chep way out is to add a sec spring to each wheel. i add a over load spring to each wheel geving me a total of 8 springs. a iner and outer spring.add one inch of ground clearnes to the car.(i can live with that for now) i did this with my 1974 260z for scca. i get better take off better coring. the ride is a bit hard but for a total cost of 43.00 buck you wont feel bad later on when you up grade.

kg/mm springs are stiffer

KGMM S21 Racing (Silver/Gold) Front: 6.6 kg/mm | 369.6 lb/in Rear: 5.2 kg/mm | 291.2 lb/in

This is why I was inquiring on the other thread, so Marcus, if YOU hop on it, maybe you can snag them.

I think I found mine anyhow. Thanks.

you better have deep pockets to pay for dampers valved for those high spring rates guys, KONI are the only domestically available brand I know that would handle those rates...-chet

ive got konis, and its my understanding that if you blow one of konis shocks/struts, they replace it for you.

what is your opinion on all this exar? heard anything bad about either the kg/mm or RSRs?

AGX's won't handle that? The shocks on my WS's stunk hardcore, they didn't even last a year...I figured the AGX's would be better than the craptastic junk I was stuck with.

Hmmm...maybe I'll rethink my kg/mm desires...

the springs themselves look great, the problem is KYB specifically says the AGX isnt made to handle spring rates over 50% higher than stock... or 3k springs(like the tein s-tech, or many other street springs)..now I would think you could run a slightly sitffer(say 3.5 to 4k) spring, and run the ax on its higher settings and be "ok", but that'd be pushing it.

apex, and a few other companies in japan make very stiff shocks, that would easily handle the spring rates of the RSR and Kg/MM, but...the only US availalbe ones I have seen are the KONI, and those arent adjustable withotu taking the shock off in the rear. you may want to look into GAB short strokes...I think those mjight hold up, or some bilstein HD's, but they'll cost quite a bit...probably more than coilovers.-chet

Well, I have KG/MM S21 Springs all around. (Front 6.6 Kg/mm and rear 5.2 Kg/mm)They are probably the stiffest springs available without going to coilover setup.

They don't drop 50mm, it's more like 35mm-40mm or about 1 finger gap between fender and rear tires (205/60/15) and about 2finger gap between front fender and front tires.

WEll, not sure if AGX would hold them but my HTS does a great job so far. Lots of track events though.

kg/mm dr drifter springs over here. no wheel well gap on 17s with no rubbing or camber issues. stiff as balls but definitely gets the job done.
