I have a 91' hatch and I just ordered up some 16x8 +10 rota grids. I originally saw the wheels on S14toRPS13's white hatch and instantly wanted a set. I read that hes running STANCE coilovers but im more budget minded at this point in my project. Im looking for a spring thats gonna give the car nice sporty look and still be able to handle really well. My OE struts are blown and the ride quality is horrible, so ive decided im gonna go with just some good sport struts and springs. The car will be more of a daily driver but there will be some track and canyon days. My budget is around 600 bucks. I also just picked up an energy suspension master bushing kit so hopefully ill be good to go here soon.

Also has anyone heard much about Esplier springs? if so what models.

Any help is greatly appreciated

No sense spending more than you have to:

Tein S-Tech and KYB GR-2's. Cheap, sturdy, good ride.

I fully understand, but ive just heard that the tein springs arent very good. I was also under the impression that with suspension (like most everything else) you get what you pay for. I want a setup that will be able to take a beating. Whats the difference between the KYB AGX and the GR2? is it just the adjustable dampening? I also wanna know how low S14toRPS13's car is so I can find a spring thats gonna give me a similar drop. thanks for comments so far. Ill take some pics as soon as I get my digi back.

you wont get a drop like that with springs, you absolutely need coilovers for that

if youre on a budget just save up a little longer and get basic coilovers, theyre worth it, and youll be able to be that low and not have to worry about your dampers

tein makes good springs, im just not a fan of them because they use progressive spring rates

if i were to get a spring/strut combo itd be kyb agx with rs*r down springs

Seriously, good decision. Coilovers are THE best modification possible on an s-chassis. You wont regret it.

+1 for coilovers... sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but you wont get the height you want desired with lowering springs.

Yeah, thats the main reason im just gonna go for the coils. I already have the wheels on the way so I really want them to fit well. Its only a couple hundred more dollars and in the end ill have a more sturdy/adjustable setup. Im really trying to have my car up and running for the next button willow track day.
