Hey I have an 90' S13 SE (5 Spd.) Its bone stock right now but I want to end up running somewhere between 700 and 800whp on pump gas. My question is which motor would best meet this end result and still be reliable (Not pushing a motor too far) I am new to owning a Nissan even though I have been a fan of them for years. I know my KA24E comes with forged internals and a cast iron block. Is it capable of my end result or do I need to swap to something like an SR20DET? I am a HUGE fan and would prefer an inline engine and one made by Nissan. Whichever choice is made I will build the motor over time THE RIGHT WAY. I will not slack on any parts in this project. I just need a little push in the right direction. Thanks in advance for any info anyone can provide.

700-800 whp on pump gas? uhhhh... you will not get those numbers with yur KA unfortunately. I hope you have a buttload of money and resources too. an RB or JZ motor will give you those numbers if you completely rebuild it from the bottom end up but it will be VERY expensive... you may be able to reach those numbers with an SR but it wouldn't exactly be a reliable street car and will require a lot of work, time, $$$ etc.

ok thanks pepesilvia. I was already sure the KA wouldnt be able to handle it and I wasn't sure about the SR. I figured an RB would be my best bet. The only RB motor i am familiar with is the RB26DETT. But apparently the RB25 and even RB20 are common swaps. The RB26DETT is definitely gods gift to man and I would love nothing else but to have one but the cost is insane. Its FAR cheaper for an RB25 or RB20. I wonder if one of those could yield the results i am looking for. I understand that for that much power I will have to build the motor right and it will take time. It will be done right I just don't want to get started on something only to realize half way through that it is not capable of the results I crave. The 2JZ is sweet but i am trying to keep the car pure nissan. Nissan car with Nissan motor. I want to show these guys with LS motors and the Coyote series that Japanese cars can be fast too.
