Pretty much what the title says ? Any suggestions for a brand for a security system ? Viper, Clifford, etc .. I hear alot from other people and I just want to make sure I invest in the right one ?

Find a great installer in your area and have them install whatever it is that they like to use. Any alarm will only be as good as the installation in the end.

agreed .. but what brand would you suggest? one of the DEIs? also as far as ignition kill switches are they available to be bought or do you have to make it yourself ?

Anything DEI is good stuff. But like stated before an alarm is only as good/effective as it's installation. And most decent alarm systems have starter kill while armed built into them.

Cliffords are generally what specialty shops tend to carry. In essence the same units as the viper, python etc. just maybe a few differences here and there.

The Clifford Avant Guard 5.1 is the best unit IMO but it does not have two way communication. You do not want a rookie to try to install it because it is very elaborate.normally open starter killnormally open ignition killdoor, hood, trunk protectionOmni sensor-Impact Digital remotely adjustable dual zone proximity sensorDigital tilt sensorRemote start-even safe for manual transmission cars15 sound Back-up battery sirencoded valet switchl.e.d.flashing parking lightsBlack Jax anti-carjack function-kills the car while thief is driving if carjackedprogrammed using a laptopTons of optionsUsually around $1,000 installed.

I also like the Clifford Matrix 50.7X for its long range two way operation and safe manual trans remote start capability. $699 and up installed

The Clifford Concept 470 offers many of the features of the Avant Guard 5.1 and is much more secure than your average alarm. It can have many of the Avant Guard features added to it. $449 and up installed
