Sometime in the future I would like to go turbo. But it would be low boost (like 8-10psi). Somewhere in the 250-300hp. Anyways for now I just need it to be realiable because it is my dd. Thanks, Kyle

i would say get some quality rods and pistons. i personally have CP 9:1 and eagle rods but i am doing a full build if you do the work your self you will save a lot of money. the AMS kit is pretty indestructible and i based mine off that. i do a lot of looking and waiting for a good deal. i got my pistons for $400 to my door.

The Quality of the following parts can varry greatly and may depend on the type of motor you want (Turbo, NA etc.) Your Rebuild kit should contain the following:CrankPistonsConecting RodsRingsBearingsNew Oil PumpNew Water PumpA FULL gasket set including front and rear sealsTiming chain and gears including guides and tensonersValve seals

Optional depending on your budget and future desires:New cam (or Cams if you have a DE)New Valves

Good time to change the folowing:Plug WiresCap and RotorAll Hoses (radiator and heater)TermostatRadiatorRadiator CapFuel Filter

You will need the folowing on hand:New Spark PlugsOil FilterOilAnti-freeze

Like I said that is what you need. Buy the best you can afford. It will handle Turbo better and if you never go turbo it will still be a good strong motor that should last a long time.

I'm with Vegas on this one; You may want to also do some other things while you have the the engine out to make your life easier in the future:

Check over your wiring harness; make sure all the connections are good and there is no corrosion on it (I have had A LOT of troubles with that in my 90 240)

Change all hoses. EVEN THE LITTLE TINY ONES

Sensors; think about how long they have been on there. If you can't remember and they are in a hard to reach spot; change them while you have it out.
