Coming up in September i will be starting my RB25 project into my s13.....I have a motorset now (s1) but am looking into purchasing a NEO instead....with that being said i have read/heard a lot of back and forth on what are the best mounts for the job setting the motor nice and snug into the bay....i was contemplating going w/the syko performance mounts anyone have any first hand experience w/these?.....i plan on doing the swap myself as i did my sr swap myself in a weekend and i plan to send out my wiring work (i hate electronics) to yury....Ive read the FAQ so i dont have many questions besides the feedback on the mounts but any advice/tips/warnings (lol) are welcome.....Thanks in advance

I haven't heard of any complains about the Syko kit on this forum but I heard about complaints from all the others. I have the Syko kit personally and had no issue what so ever with them.

Appreciate the feedback ....Im leaning towards the syko kit since it utilizes the r32 crossmember and i want to have the best fitment possible....also ive heard that the crossmember is a bolt on affair so y not?

Dunno anything about the Syko mounts, but I know the Mckinney is supposed to be the shizzle. But its madddd dough!!!

Top Hat/Core performance/JGY and who ever sells those black mounts suck.I have them and the isolators are WAYYYYY to squishy. Trans xmember doesn't fit 100%, you have to slot some holes.

I'm going to make my own isolaters after I get the car 100%.But they are the cheapest.

R32 xmember by itself, hits the hood. Then you need to figure something out for the trans xmember.

i have run 4 sets of top hat mounts and have been fine, if you dont like the isolators then change them out still cheaper than everyone else, the psyko ones to me suck, as performance shop owner they dont work well for anyone who wants to lower there car, and most all 240 owners want to do that. they sit the motor to low causing the exhaust and downpipes to sit extremely low to the ground, they also position the oil pan to low to the ground as well the crossmember sits lower then the stock 240s. im sure the mckennys fit fine just are too high for what you get, the tophats position the motor is the best spot in the bay and shifters are perfect center. but all in all its up to you, just figured that you might want the opinion of someone who installs them for a living

The Syko mounts come with adapter brackets to use with the R32 transmission crossmember, or at least my kit came with adapter brackets for the R33 transmission crossmember

Otherwise, I love my Syko kit. It's almost like having solid mounts, but not as bad. It was a breeze to install, everything lined up right the first time.

I've never scraped my oilpan or exhaust. My FMIC and USDM S14 front lip both hang lower(I scrape the lip fairly often). Also, the newer Syko kit shouldn't affect the exhaust much, since you have to supply your own downpipe. Just get a smaller downpipe?

Ive only done one swap but i like how the stock mounts and crossmember work, and instead of spending that $500 on a mounting kit, i spent it on something usefull for the swapAlso was able to use stock clutch fan, and no exhaust modification was needed the rb25 dp hooked right up to the exhaust that was already on the car

heyy i have the syko kit myself. i really like it and encourage you to get the syko mount kit yourself. it was really easy to install the motor. everything pretty much dropped right in. i used the r33 crossmember. as for the trans crossmember, you can either use the r33 OR the AUTO 240 trans crossmember. (i currently have the auto 240 trans crossmember) the manual 240 trans crossmember will not work because of its orientation. the kit includes trans crossmember relocation bracket so you don't really have to fab up a custom one or anything. it positions the shifter pretty much dead center too. it comes with the turbo elbow to clear the steering shaft and with that, you can use any sr20 downpipe (i have the megan racing sr downpipe) it also comes with swaybar spacers to lower your sway bar about an inch so its not really pressing hard on the oil pan at all. i also went thru the driveshaft shop and got an aluminum driveshaft thats made to fit the rb25 in an s13. all you have to do is tell them you have the syko mount kit. also with this kit, there is no problem with hood clearance. no need to cut the hood bracing or anything, should close just fine.

good luck with the swap!

Reading comprehension may not be your strong suit however, I was only asking members on their experience w/these mounts in specific not how to swap it in or anything of the sort....Also since this is the RB section I added that if anyone had any tips or things that they may have run into while doing this swap to share as it may very well help myself or another member in the future....Up to this point everyone has been very helpful and I have even had some members email me pics of their entire install w/o me asking just to help out a fellow member..... I noticed that your sig has that you yourself have an rb25 NEO in your S14 its sad that instead of sharing the knowledge that you may or may not have you attempted (although feebly) to flame me.....To all who posted again your feedback is very much appreciated....In the future leave your attitude and e-thugness for someone who's join date resembles yours

Don't mind him...I just wanted to add something about the SYKO mounts.

They Rock. I had no fitment issues with them whatsoever. The turbo elbow they include clears the steering column nicely and allows to just use an SR20 downpipe. Spacers, Mounts, Adaptors are all perfect!

I have actually seen a Top Hat Mount that ripped off the crossmember after doing an AutoX event. Not Good.

I have a set of the ruckus/zero lift mounts on the way here soon......I haven't heard anything bad about them and didn't feel like swapping out the cross member,we will see how sturdy these things look when they come in.

Where did you order them from?....Post pics when you get them delivered and again when you get the motor in so that we can see the difference vs other mounts

This topic has been beaten to hell but I just wanted to chime in for the hope that future people will search for this thread (despite there being TONS OF THREADS ALREADY DISCUSSING THIS TOPIC)

OEM/Custom/Syko/McKinney = Best, worth money, no hassles

Ruckus/Zerolift/Top Hat = Worst, headaches, wasted time, wasted money

I guess that answers Jadessr20dets question about the zerolift/ruckus mounts,I been wondering the same thing about their strength like the tophats had with tearing and also how they located the motor.....mine just came in today, they looks pretty nicely welded and painted and gusseted well enough to holdup to a beating, plus my s14 came with new KA mounts in it when I bought the car:)

Oh and they were only $270 shipped on Ebay.

Thought I could put more cash into the block and bought Ruckus, Crap-tastic. Had to make solid mounts in order for it fit. Getting McKenny mounts for replacement.

Yea i figured as much just by googling them from the jump it was either syko or mckinney for me and im leaning towards the syko mounts and oem x-member as i have seen a few members setup and like how the motors sit etc......I do appreciate the input from you guys since this will aide in my decision and maybe help an rb hopeful decide as well...im not new to swaps or cars but im taking your guys advice since i am new to this swap in particular so dont worry i wont be making a "help my top hat/ruckus/etc etc mounts broke how can i fix it thread"
