Do you have an X - AWD M or the sport - RWD M? If it is the sport are you planning to drive the M in the snow? If so, I don't think that would be a good idea, even with all-season tires.

+1. I would probably look for a descent set of wheels and snow tires in your case.

I have Goodyear RS-A all seasons on my M35x and was getting the drifting at take off at times even with the snow button on. But overall I am pleased with the AWD in the snow here.

My friend have a 11 G37 RWD and he tried to run out yesterday in the snow and turned back cause it kept spinning out. He have Firestone All season tires.

Michelin Primacy are good. Have you considered snow tires?

I live in NJ , my M is RWD .On my stock 18's I have Continental DWS and I feel pretty confident driving on them in snow. I do agree that winter tires are the best alternative for driving in snow but then again a lot has to do with driving skills and different approach for driving in winter.

Yea i was thinkin the Michelin X-Ice i3.. I guess switching out seasons would be my best option.

Also possibly jus buying 2 great winter tires for rear. I do real estate, which cant say RWD is best option for all seasons, but jus considering my safest options for the road.. But seems like a michelin brand is best option for snow.

Definitely considered selling to repurchase an AWD.

I'm saying, being back and forth between NYC and CT, I can say RWD without the right tires in the snow is definitely a death trap waiting to happen. Had too many instances doing 360s on the highway in the snow in my young boy days, not fun at all!! I knew this buying the car, but I already had plan to buy snow tires.

I've always preferred RWD over anything else. Less maintenance and better driving dynamics IMO

However, the same can be for AWD, 4X4, and FWD, with suspect tires

Its all about having the right tires, whether what drive configuration you have.

I just bought 19" Dunlop Winter Sport m3 winter tires that came off a Bentley, 8/32 tread, for $300, that's a nice come up!! :woot:

tirerack reviews were good on this tire as well

Guy is selling the same exact tire set in an 18" as well

I just replaced my conti DWS with 45xxx miles with the Conti Pure contact. So far they have been great. Ran in about 2" of snow this week with no problems. Slightly smoother ride than the DWS. too early to tell if the Pures will last as long as the DWSs.

On paper (TireRack reviews) the Conti Pure Contact looks better than the DWS. I've always been a fan of the Conti Contact tires-especially the DWS. If the Pure Contact continues posting excellent results for the next year my next tire change from my DWS will be to it. Good snow and ice performance are essential where I live.

Having lived in NJ and CT I second all posters advice on the Conti's DWS. I have them on all 4 wheels. They have served me well.

I live in Albany, NY and had the Conti DWS and now have the Primacy MXM4's. Both are great and I deal with a LOT more snow than you City folks lol.

I agree with that, up north yall get bad snow storms. Continental tires seem like a popular choice.
