"The Silvia Squad" That sounds like a name of a cartoon. So I assume you guys have RHD actual JDM silvias. Not just 240s with SRs. If even that.:rolleyes

I doubt it, since there is no such thing as a "silvia" fastback, like he says....seems like the typical highschool car crew, and name...

quit hatin on us lol.we are your typical high school car club who are trying our hardest to make respectable silvias/180sx's and even sileighty's.We are not ricers and none of us have huge wings or any thing of that sort.We are all trying to save for SR's CA's and even RB's but things are tight being were 16 and 17 years old with horrible jobs.

that 93 coupe on that list is owned by me. yes im 17. yes im in high school. but that doesnt mean that my car is decked out in rediculous graphics, unsessary lighting, and those ever so cool park bench spoilers.

i see where you are coming from with the whole high schooler rice seen. yes, our very own high school has been poisened by rice (definately not me and s13-master over there). but, i atleast thought you would have maybe asked about the conditions of the cars and then criticizing them, instead of straight out flaming.

yeah, we are practically new to the scene. s13-master and i have been researching for almost 2 years, i believe we would know better than to ruin such a car. :ofacetalk to us and then you can see for yourselves. then hopefully your veiw of us will be opposite.

p.s. if there was a cartoon called silvia sqaud, i'd be sitting in front of the t.v. right now. :yesnod:D

I'm sorry for flaming you. But I am just tired of seeing the whole "Silvia" deal. Hardly no one has a actual Slivia or 180sx in the US. So just call them 240sx's. If you have conversions that is killer but you are still a 240sx at heart even if you have a CA or SR.

acctually dosen't the name come from the engine, (i could be wrong on this, i have just talked to a couple of people here and thats why they say its a diffrent name, in diffrent places) and i see these cars over here and if the only diffrence is the side you drive on then thats not really a heart, the heart is the engine, and the fact that its a nissan, so if someone wants to call their car a 180sx, and has all the same parts as a 180 has and the only diffrence is that it is a left hand drive, then big deal, you took out the 240 heart when you did the swap, so call it a 180sx, it has the heart of one if you have done all the swaps to it.

I can't call my car anything except a 240sx because I put a S13 180sx motor into a S14 chasis. So my car is a hybrid that doesn't exist in Japan.

Second anyone can call their car what they want and I am a jack@$$ for flaming you I just realized that. Thats why we are in America freedom of Speech and Press. So call your car what you want.

yeah the 240sx name comes from the fact that its a 2.4L engine, so i don't really know why a 180 is called a 180 but, the fact that the sr is a 2.L would make me think that the name 200sx came from that, so if this is true then that would be your heart you are talking about....but again i could be wrong on all this, and the more i think about it, if it makes you happy call it a 180sx or a 240sx, just as long as it makes you happy....good luck to you guys, i remember how it is to have a bad job in high school, and looking at car stuff and thinking how is this ever going to happen....just keep it safe on the road, i also remember being really stupid when it came to driving when i was young, but i guess thats part of growing up...good luck!

The 180SX was called so because from 88.5-90, they had CA18DET's in them. 91 rolled around, and Nissan put SR20's in them, and never changed the name.

If you want more mindgames, the USDM 200SX (overweight Sentra) has a GA16DE (1.6 liter) in all models except the SE-R, which has an SR20DE.

Wish they could have gotten their stories straight. ;) :D

soon as i replace my quarter glass ill have a 180sx thats lefthand drive, and guess what, they did make a LHD 180sx's. at least i think they did since my FSM has divisions for both LHD and RHD ! i had a mechanic that was doing my allignment freaked out since i told his its a 240sx and when he was lookn at the rear of the car he sees 180sx on it, he came into the lobby all worried that he just alligned the car to the wrong spe's, it took me a good 5mins to convince him he did the right car and explain why i have the 180sx rear garnish

I can't seem to locate any threads on quarter mile times. Can someone provide a link?

@slw 240sx: Yeah the LHD 180sx was made for Europe and the funny thing is they called it 200sx over here(as a market strategy), although it was only available with the CA18DET from 89-94.:ylsuper
