Best primer for DIY paint job?

Hey guys, I didn't know where to post this. There isn't a technical forum dedicated to body work yet so...I thought this topic would get the most views here in the general section.

I pose this question to the paint pro's or even the DIY painters.

What brand primer do you prefer? I'm buying two spray-guns: one for the base and clear coats and the other strictly for primer. Anyhow, I've heard good things about DL90 being the primer of choice by pros.

Secondly, how about filler? Anyone tried using featherfill in place of body filler? In my experience with featherfill, it's so much easier to manipulate and sand down than body filler but I'm uncertain of how it'd react if exposed to the elements?

Lastly, anyone ever used the House of Kolors line of paints? How do they compare to PPG, Omni or Delstar?

well I've done a lot of body work to my s13. My uncle owns a shop and we use Dupont Cromabase. Dupont also released a cheaper brand called Nason which is what we use for primer. I don't know if that primer you mentioned, is like fill and sand or if its urethane primer. I am using the urethane primer on my s13 because its thick to fill imperfections, and will not shrink like other fill and sand primers. I can do body work but I have never painted- my uncle does all the paint work, and he won't teach me. But thats just what I'm gonna use, don't really know if that helps you or not. Just my .02

NASON was used to paint my car when the last owner redid it. Its pretty good IMO. Thats what im gona use when i repaint it.
